We stopped by couple rest area in Texas along I-10, they are clearly labeled Safe rest area, there is a small police office in the rest area. Kiddos to Texas.

And 85 mph on I-10 once you pass central TX!
Well, the speed limit out there is actually 80 - not that anyone pays much attention to it

80 mph limit in Texas? There must be more Prius owners in that state than they are letting on.

We arrived in our hotel near Bakersfield CA, no need GPS tomorrow ;-) just I5 north home.
There are traffic on I-210 Pasadena CA, but not as bad as before. Overall, gas stations are great for rest stops, some rest areas are closed, but most are opened. We are glad that hotels stay open.
Thanks every one for chiming in.
LONG drive today!
There was a leak about them considering it. Of course, for planning purposes, you have to throw everything on the table. It is of course too early to implement an interstate travel ban.
On the other hand, Rhode Island police and National Guard have just erected roadblocks to check NY residents trying to escape from their state.

I think a lot of assumptions are posted. They are usually qualified as assumptions, but it means more postings pointing out whether or not they are correct.I live in Southern California and I have not heard of anyone talking about closing the interstates. Where is this coming from? We are still using our freeways to go grocery shopping. That would completely cripple us if they shut them down.
Other than some White House ramblings I have not heard of anyone seriously talking about implementing an interstate travel ban.
