2nd attempt today. I use the same opening sum every day. Today I was rewarded with 3 numbers and 2 symbols in the right place. This allowed me to get it in two.

My first two standard equations got me most of the way there, but then I was just on my own... kind of trial and error. I tried to get upper/lower bounds, but in the end, most of these puzzles require just running a bunch of 'what if' mental gymnastics until I shoe-horn one that's a legit equation and that uses each of the proven included symbols, plus a guess at which are repeats.

I have not gone back to play this after my first two times, but I might in the future. With two Wordles a day (daily and one archive), that's enough game time for me, and I do have some "work" to do.

But a question, in case I do get back to it: Do they ever use leading zeroes for an answer? Like "bla-bla=02"? I assume not, but don't know.

From the FAQ:

What about zeros?
Nerdle answers don't use leading zeros or lone zeros, even though some may be accepted as valid guesses. So you won’t find an answer like this: 0+5+5=10, or like this: 01+2+1=4. However, 0 is allowed as the answer to the right of the equal sign (i.e. 5-3-2=0 is allowed).
