Wow. Exactly my age. He was better at his stunts than his dad. He used the right equipment with the right prep. Evel was just seemingly winging it half the time.
Being my age, I imagine Robbie was actually doing small jumps on small motorcycles back when we were setting up rickety scrap plywood and doing our "jumps" in the alley back in Chicago on our Schwinn Sting Rays. We probably had more injuries than he ever did.
you brought back some memories Joe. My brother had one of those rare 10 speed stingrays. We had a 90 degree turn onto a gravel driveway along our property to the plywood ramp.

Robbie Knievel, son of Evel Knievel, died from pancreatic cancer. 60 years old. He exceeded many of his father's motorcycle jumps, although i don't think he reached the fame of his father. Both were entertaining to watch their daredevil jumps.
