A very basic $22 drone, for getting a lightweight fishing line over a tree on our property, to support a long-wire radio antenna.
Impressive and clever. I've always relied on my trusty slingshot, but I like your idea!

I ordered a hard hat so I will no longer split my scalp open when messing around in the attic. [emoji43]*[emoji94]
Yeah, I was burned by the Jif peanut butter recall too. Now I buy Skippy and Skippy brand only. The last thing I ordered from Amazon, was 96 oz of Jif creamy peanut butter. I didn't buy any for months after the Jif PB food poisoning scandal, but by now I think/hope it is OK.
I have been substituting Skippy for Jif, too. I guess I'm picky, though - - I just don't like it as much as I like Jif so I want to go back to Jif.Yeah, I was burned by the Jif peanut butter recall too. Now I buy Skippy and Skippy brand only.
That's one of the nicest features of my Ring doorbell.

I saw what you did there. Remember those old TV commercials? Choosy moms choose Jif?

The last time I got a line over this particular tree, it was with a slingshot and a lead sinker. I was taking a big chance though, as I'm in a built-up area, with plenty of windows and parked cars. I got lucky that time, but don't want to chance my luck a second time!
The very cheap drones that cost around $20 are, as you can imagine, neither the most feature-rich or stable. They're more like toys, intended mainly for playing with indoors. I questioned their worth in this role, but came across a blog-post by a ham who has used one for this very purpose, with success (his was $16, but the post was a few years old). I'm going to use the very lightest fishing line I can find (4lb test). Worst case scenario is that it either doesn't work, or I crash it. For just $22, it will be a fun experiment.
, it's fractured but fortunately not broken.
Fractured is the medical term for broken. They mean exactly the same thing.
Hope she feels better soon.
