Lowes 10% Military Discount

I purchased a storm door @ Lowes yesterday for $380. While at the check out counter the alert cashier noticed my military ID card in my wallet when I was digging out my credit card to pay for the door. She then advised me that Lowes was giving a 10% discount to all military (I'm retired) from July 1-July 4 and gave me a $38 discount.

I thanked her and asked why this discount was not advertized and she said did not know.

Home Depot is doing same thru Jul 4th. I even got 10% off on renting a rug doctor.

A buddy in my national guard unit is the store manager, so he makes sure it's advertised and he lets everyone know.

Old landlord trick. The post office usually has those moving packets with discounts from several companies. THey usually have a 10% discount card for Lowes or HD in them. Comes in pretty handy when you're replacing all the appliances in your units.
