6-10 inches of snow over the next 24 hours:( If the winter weather continues into May that would be 8 months with winter weather:mad:

Aaaaackkkk......

93 degrees here. :p ...and of course windy as all get out. I think I'm gonna stop brushing my hair.

So far we've had 1 day above 60 degrees. It was a balmy 24 this morning and a high today of 39. All the big snow storms have gone south of us this winter but the cold seems to be stuck here.

This is odd even for Wisconsin. We are basically having a severe thunderstorm. We have the lightning, loud thunder, and strong winds but instead of rain we're getting very heavy snow. Sometimes so heavy there's no visibility(whiteout). This snow is very wet and heavy. I see power outages in my near future. I'm turning the heat up to 75 so when it goes out it'll take a little longer to get cold. Temps will be in the 20's and 30's for the next couple days.

Awakened at 0230 by thunder; heavy rain and lightning until ~3 hours ago. 3 inches of rain; flooding all over the place; roads closed; a grocery store parking lot flooded with cars floating around.
So far has been a very wet year.

I am happy to report the biscuit is now soggy....

Not here. We're still drinking dust a little farther to the south.

Thunder started about 10 PM last night and continued till 4 AM. Temperature was steady at 38F and we got a ton of rain.

Yep, down here ever farther south we're drowning in it.

I keep glancing out the rear window down into the valley to our south, looking for signs of smoke. All the news about fires makes me very nervous...

Pretty nerve-wracking. There seem to be more fires in Texas each day.

Apparently a line of strong storms came through our area last night. Thunder/lightning, heavy rain and wind for several hours with some structural damage reported a mile or so from my house. I slept too soundly to hear a thing.

I see there are fires near Fort Worth.

Rain hail wind lightning started at 0130.

A lot of thunder and lightning here with a little rain. There's a huge storm line in TX right now. I hope everyone gets at least some rain (and manages to escape the hail).

Pea and marble-sized hail, AGAIN. But yesterday seemed unusual... no hail at all. So far this April, marble-sized is the biggest we have gotten right here. But many reports of golfball and much larger (been there, received that multiple times, don't want it again).

Was very black just a while ago. Thunderstorm cells are being created a few miles down from me, by the time internet radar update shows hail likely, it's already moved over me and banging down.

Just another reason not to live in...

Late yesterday afternoon, some areas in TX got hail the size of hen eggs. Yep..I said hen eggs, that's what the meteorologist said. I've heard of pea, marble, nickel, golf ball, baseball, softball and my own term of 'the size of canned hams'....

Currently it's raining. Some lightning and thunder.

All the TV stations have halted their usual soap-opera etc. programing, and gone into multiple-meteorologist radar tracks all over tornado mode. Storm spotters with pics of funnel clouds being sent in. One has been on/off again near Texas' only nuclear power plant near Glen Rose. Big supercell lineup west of the DFW area, while to the east of the line, the sun has suddenly come out, temp popped into the 80's with 100% humidity here, in a very unstable atmosphere. Not good, that's even more fuel for the incoming storms to feed on.

NWS in Binghamton has issued something I rarely hear in these parts...tornado warning. Mr B is somewhere out on the road between Syracuse and home and not answering his phone. :(
I'm sure he has pulled over, and is fine but I can't help but worry. I'm heading downstairs until this blows by. I have wireless internet so I can stay online.

UPDATE: I'm OK. I have to admit my adrenaline was pumping like crazy. A tornado was spotted by NWS volunteer weather watchers to the south of where I live. The good news is that the storm cell is headed into pretty sparsely inhabited areas and hopefully will diminish in strength.

Well that was weird! We just had pea to marble size hail, and it was just cloudy, nothing dark at all. No rain before or after. The hail just started all of a sudden. A few hitting first, then within 30 seconds, a barrage for about 3 minutes. Then abruptly quit. Then the sun came out. Don't need the sun heating an unstable atmospere. Tomorrow is predicted to be a no storms at all day. That would be nice!

Hang in there Telly and freebird...

I just looked at our weather forecast and we have a tornado watch out until 10 pm. Large hail, damaging winds are likely.

Egads...possible tornados and me with a fat lip. :dead:

Huge tornado outbreak here in northern and central Alabama. The local TV stations have lost their radar capabilities so we don't know what's going on. Nobody has power in northern AL after the main lines from the local nuclear power plant were severed by the storm. Huge damages according to reports on the radio. Huddling at home with the peeps, waiting it out...

FD, this is a real monster according to news stories that I saw (like this one), and it is headed more or less towards your area I believe. Take care and stay near the middle of your house away from windows on the bottom floor. Good luck and I hope you get power back soon.

Unbelievable weather yesterday. Tornado's touched down all around my area, but nothing like Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Hope FD and Simple Girl report in today. I think I heard around 150 were killed through out the south yesterday.:(

Still here. Our area will be without power for 3-5 days. Massive damage south and west of us. Yesterday was crazy... and it was my birthday!

Unbelievable. I hope everyone is able to cope well and has escaped injury or damage to property.

Ha

What a relief to hear that you are OK. The damage those tornados caused was tremendous, and overshadowed by the hundreds who lost their lives. That has to be the most awful birthday imaginable.

Can you go on vacation to someplace with power for about 3-5 days? Sounds like a good time to get away.
