No one is going to change anyone else’s mind here,
Heroes:
Enter burning buildings.
Endure enemy fire.
Challenge convention under threat of violence.
Etc.
They aren’t heroes because they play golf, or guitar...
Having said all that, it is possible to acknowledge achievement without the hero worship thing...
Just appreciate the feat. You don't have to love the guy.
Hero defined:
a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
sounds like tiger is a hero to me
Noble? You have to be kidding. Here is the definition of noble:
" possessing, characterized by, or arising from superiority of mind or character or of ideals or morals : lofty"
You can say the guy is a great golfer and I will agree, but to say he has "noble qualities" is beyond absurd.
I've said enough on the subject of Tiger, this is it for me.........
Pretty much everyone is a hero now. That term has been thrown around so much over the last couple years...its lost a lot of meaning. Its unfortunate.
LOL no, and that's because he's a scumbag.BTW, this bothered me on Tiger's win: with such an adoring crowd, standing ovation upon standing ovation--couldn't he have taken a moment to take a bow, or recognize the fans immediately after the victory?
not sergio....
Wow. With the amount of judgment and self-righteousness I see in this thread, I would never dream of trying to walk on any of your lawns...
You mean spitting in the cup or beating the sand in a bunker senseless isnt hero-like? that dude has some serious anger issues...him and Rahm must be buddy buddy.

Nothing heroic about playing golf...
Aside from hero or not. Or deserving of medal of freedom or not.
Here's the question I'm most interested in:
When is the next majors champion? Could get interesting to see if his comeback is a one time thing or a trend.
PGA Championship which used to be played in August as the last of the season's majors has been moved to May. The weekend of the 18th I think. You'll not have long to wait.
