New Weight Loss/Obesity Drugs Could Transform Economy

I am a Type 2 diabetic and have been for 20 years. Started Ozempic about 5 years ago. One problem I have had in the last couple years is the pharmacy not able to maintain an inventory. I used to get a 3 month supply and now they limit it to 1 month. I used to get it mailed, but now I have to...

How Do You Get Live TV?

We have one tv that uses an attenna and gets 20 or so channels. Several show old series like "What's my Line" "Ironside" "Kojack" "Combat" "Petticoat Junction" that are a hoot. Plus NBC is having a disagreement with Direct TV so that is the only way we can watch The Voice.

What time do you eat dinner?

I like to eat by 5:00 so it doesn't bother sleeping. Wife likes to eat between 7:00 and 8:00. She generally makes dinner and warms hers up later. We used to eat together when we worked, but while my schedule didn't change, hers did. Mods if you prefer, make into a poll.

Leave Deck Furniture Outside for Winter? (Minnesota)

Hi Q, MN sufferer also. We used to also store ours in the basement, but now in our 70's that is impractical. We put the chairs tilted up against the table, put tarp over, use bungee cord cord under the chair. We used to run a bungee under the table but have stopped that. One year there were...

    New scam?

I get these as emails all the time "we are holding your package in our warehouse because we need your shipping information" Most show a box with a label like yours did. The give away is usually the email address. Received one today from USPS that had a hotmail address.

At What Age Do You EXPECT Your Nest Egg $ To Peak?

No one has really talked about RMD's. Unless you all have converted a lot, I would think RMD's would eventually eclipse growth. I remember many years ago when I read Bogleheads, Jim (with an intial I can't recall) tracked his "nest egg" and claimed his peaked at age 80. As RMD's go up every...

    First Paid Job

What was your first paying job, time frame, pay and task? I started in a fast food joint when I was 15 in the mid 1960's, flipping burgers for $0.65/hour. The owner was a friend of my family and I worked there through college. Now it is a Firestone tire store.

    Purchasing New Car

DW wants to purchase probably our last new car. We can pay cash, but are wondering if there is a financial benefit to doing so. Will dealers discount and all cash purchase or would they rather place a loan? We could take a loan and then pay it off after a couple payments. We have always...

    Road Rage Uptick

We recently had one of our busier two lane residential streets turn into one lane with a turn lane in the center and a speed limit 35. The first day people started to use the turn lane as a passing lane and the speed limit is just ignored. That street is also the entrance to the high school...

    What have you read recently?

"Dinner With the President" by Alex Prud'Homme. What each President ate in the White House and how it influenced politics and diplomacy. As a fan of politics and food, I found it fascinating. Also had some on who the White House cooks were, and how the WH kitchen evolved over time...

    Eating Fish

Some of my fondest memories as a kid were my Gma rowing us around the lake fishing for crappies and bluegills. At night she would annouce there "is a crappie ripple" and we would go. Always caught fish which ended up as huge platters of beer-battered filets. Like eating candy. Nothing better...
