Some interesting stats from the Nasdaq Chief Economist here, comparing three different strategies. Hold overnight, hold intraday, or buy-and-hold. Oddly enough, even though it would be a lot of work and expensive if you have fees, the hold overnight strategy has, until recently, outpaced even buy-and-hold!
