NFL: 2017 Season

It looks like the SB will be a rematch of the 2004 SB. The Eagles will have an opportunity to redeem themselves against the Pats.

Also The Vikings will not be the first team to play the SB on their field

Agree.... NE was bailed out by the two long pass interference calls... both were correct calls but I am not sure they would have been completions without them...

And that defensive play at the end by NE... just needed a bit more air on that ball and it is complete and maybe for a touchdown...

SOOOO close....

Hope the next one is just as exciting...

And, and, and...And NE wins again. Quit with the excuses. They're just the best of all time, period

NFL has become a football exhibition . Only to support NE 100 yds of penalties on JAX and 5 on NE . The second half was a schooling in holding by NE.\\\

Or maybe, just maybe NE is a better coached and more disciplined team and they simply commit less penalties? Nah, that couldn't be it, must be the refs cheating.

Yeah, there’s still 14:00 left (as I type this) but the game is over. Vikes are getting crushed, and the Eagles don’t have their star QB. Ouch. I hope the SB is a good game.

I was really hoping either Jacksonville or Minnesota would make to the SB. I don't like either of the teams/cities that made it. Just a bad year for football for me.

Was definitely rooting for the Vikings though maybe they were spared the heartbreak of losing another SB and this time in front of their own fans. And agree that early in the other game it looked like the Jags were going to do the Pats what they had done to the Steelers, both O and D lines were dominating but the game is 60 minutes long.

Think I am going to be pulling for the old man in the big game even though I would usually be cheering for the underdog.

The jags scored only two field goals in the second half. The Pats as they always do, make adjustments and always execute better in the fourth quarter. No Edelman, No Gronk after the first quarter, no problem....

Win or lose the SB, Brady and Belichick are the GOATS

Been a Vikings fan since a little girl, sitting in front of my parents new color TV with my helmet on and football in hand, waiting to enjoy the often successful goal line stands of the purple people eaters and the scrambling of Fran. here we have yet another post season heartbreak, in a long line of them. Oh well. Will be the patriots for me I guess in the SB, just based on TB's age I suppose, and because the Eagles beat the Vikings. Silly reasons, but a bit of fun.

A play here or there and game could've been different. On that fumble where the ball got ripped out of the Pats' RB's hands. Looks like the defender wasn't down and could have returned the recovery for a TD? He had a clear field.

I think the Jaguars went away from a time of possession game, where they did so well in the 1st half.

Brady is like cat burglar on those comebacks. Gotta hand it to the Pats. All with the Gronk zonked out of the 2nd half.

He was being 'touched' by the guy who fumbled the ball, so he could not advance...

I agree... they did not try and run the clock much at the end... kept passing and making incompletes....

According to the talking heads they would have been... they said two teams have played in their home town but not on their home field....

Wow. I did not expect that. I was hoping the Eagles would somehow pull out a win, but that game was amazing!

DD2 informed me via text that she will be in town for the Super Bowl, but of course she and the BF will be joining friends someplace fun to watch the game rather than hanging out with the parents. I guess we will have to find our own fun place to watch.

I remember driving in the car on Super Bowl Sunday in 2004 (the last time the Eagles were in the SB) and telling DD that she better enjoy the day because she might not see the Eagles there again for a long time. Fourteen years isn’t that bad.

Saw this on Twitter.

Looks like Philadelphia's fans are not in danger of losing their reputation anytime soon. :nonono:

Then there's this poor guy.....

Some Boston reporter called Philly a poor man's Boston or a rich man's Cleveland LOL

I can understand you not liking the teams but what do you have against the cities? Have you visited Boston or Philly? Just curious.

My personal experience last year's SB here in Houston all we heard as volunteers from Patriots fans was complaints about Houston . The Falcons were first class people . At the end of the week lots of volunteers refused to mess with the Patriots fans . But sincerely not all of them were bad. I have visited Boston and Philly . Boston is a nice old town expensive . Philly never interested me . To me Philly seemed dirty and Boston seemed unfriendly. .... just sayin...

DH and I are watching this year's Super Bowl in Hot Springs (Oaklawn Casino, no less, which we only visit every couple years). A huge Patriots fan, DH is always "out-yelled" if we watch their games in our hometown.

Seeing some of the Jacksonville players with tears running down their faces took some of the joy out of the win for me.

Okay...admittedly...I do not follow NFL. The thread caught my eye because of the win last night which DH was super happy about. :)

SuperBowl Champs!

Congratulations to the Philly Eagles and their fans on winning their first SuperBowl championship! I know the feeling.

Amazing from a really good bench player to the highest paid QB in the NFL ....Wonder why BB let him go for a second ? He should have got more .
