The Coming Economic Collapse

Somebody up here has guns. :D

We just had "The Shedden Massacre" 10 days ago.

About 20 minutes southwest of London, 8 members of the Canadian Bandidos were offed and dumped in the woods.

Yes, that's a beautiful area, with a wealth of outdoor possibilities.

The relocation centers, of course, would be in the far North Tundra. ;)

We really should thank our lucky stars to have Canada as our neighbor, and not the Sudan. We're just spoofing you guys up nort, eh? It's aboot time we show some respect, let's sing their national anthem! "Oh Canada, the pipes, the pipes are calling!"...oh wait... ;)

Seriously, I have no idea where this rivalry thing got started ::) but I do love your country, you should be very proud. I will continue to visit often and spend those taxed at a marginal rate under 90% american dollars. :D

GOD keep our Land

Glorious and Free

You Clowns cross the line, paint an X on your forehead, this is my Country and I don't want no damn Foreigners.

NEVER Underestimate Canadians, we are the worlds Best Neighbours, but don't piss us off.

Cool Dood, we'll take you out, first pass, You Dork.

Yanks don't like turn coats either.

newyorklady,

...live half the time somewhere cheap and foreign.

Consider Louisiana. :D Paul Terhorst said he never visited a more foreign country than Louisiana.

Good luck on your trip! If it's not too much trouble, give us a trip report when/if you get back. Hell, give us weekly posts from the road. Write something for Escape Artist. I hope you ain't a vegan.

Cheers!

What a coincidence, my nephew says he saw a higher standard of living in Afghanistan than in the area around Fort Polk, LA...

Can we really take an article like this seriously when it doesn't mention even once how gold can help you during this transition:confused:

Excellent point. I've always gotten a chuckle out of the "buy gold the end is near" stories. If things really go to crap, bullets for my .357 will be much more valuable than any piece of shiny junk. :D

Hmmm

Well - this time around, having been thru the 70's and 80's with a few leftovers(gold , timberland, foriegn stock, etc) - I'll be dumping all that crap and buying American at bargin prices- stocks, long bonds and a big gas sucking V8 pickup.

Maybe even move back to Louisiana.

Then again MO ain't too bad - so far.

heh heh heh

Canada has no military, and plenty of natural resourses.  We could probably wrap that up in a week or so. :D

Just a thought. 8)
Probably bore us to death!  :D

Victoria, especially, is beyoootiful! But, a few years ago, I was up there at Christmas time.  My **** shrunk!  :)  Is that right or should it be shrank?

Someone should start a company marketing bullets made of gold. That way when the apocalypse comes, you can choose depending on the situation to trade your bullets for food, or to shoot them at your neighbor.

Cool Dood, name ONE WAR, including 1812, where the Americans have invaded a country and defeated the Population??

1776, a much larger British Army was defeated by a bunch of guys who could run and shoot and hide and looked like the guys they were shooting at.

Korea, Vietnamn, Iraq, all invasions by primarily US Forces, did not win any.

Ireland, brits against Irish rebels, guess who won.

Israel, guerillas aginst big army, guess who won.

Big Armies marching with Big Weapons are a thing of the past, one man on a mission from his God with a vial in a brief case could bring the mightiest nations in the world to their knees.

Going along with your inane hypothesis CD, you have heard of the British Commonwealth of Nations, of which Canada is a partner, well now CD, you have 40+ nations that you are taking on,and some of them have big armies with big weapons.

An American once said God was in a good mood when he created Canada, and he was right.

Visit Flint, Michigan or parts of the Bronx, or 8 mile, then tell me if all men are created equal, well they may be, but US Society sure has hell doesn't treat them all as equal.

Again, 1% of Total U.S. Population hold 34% of its' total Wealth(CNBC).

Max--Ever hear of a little war called World War II.  Granted we didn't fight alone, but we were the majority of the forces.  The Brits had been in it for so long they could not field as many people.  The Canadian, well they don't have a big army, the rest ditto as Canada.

I know your an expert on US society, from your numerous vacations here.  I guess you'll really hate the fact that as long as a person works hard, and follows the law and customs of the area they live they will get ahead.  The examples you cite from Flint, 8 mi, and the Bronx are typically people who refuse to comply with the laws of the country or the mores of this society and as a result have the wealth of the country withheld from them.

I know you won't understand.  I explained the same thing to my sister-in-law, who refuses to comply with both the law and mores of society and then complains that everyone else has it easier than she.

May 1, Trout Season opens, today I have to prune some Apple Trees out back.

CD, you are not as dumb as you look.

The Yanks invade Canada, we defeat them(again), now they get Full Socialised Health Care, Gun Control, A Years Maternity/Paternity leave, we take responsibility for straightening out their Financial mess with our Government Suplus', plus they get access to Fresh Water and buy their Oil from Alberta instead of Iraq.

Pretty damn sneaky.

I have relatives from other countries come to visit and they invariably want to visit the slums. They look and say, "How can the wealthiest nation in the world alllow this to happen?" Then I drive them around and show them all the help wanted signs and explain that slums will always exist no matter how much opportunity is out there. It takes a little effort to get up, shower and head to work on time, but if you can do that with a good attitude you will do fine in this country. Now, for people living in Flint, 8 mile or the Bronx, I would say MOVE. You may have been born in the slums, but you don't have to stay there.

It's a matter of standard of living. She like's it higher than the trout bum in a trailer park. I do too, but I could survive very nicely as a Trout Bum, if I had to. The heath ins, stock purchase etc. - Plus she's only 46. No different than anyone else, I guess.

OK - I showed you mine, now you show me yours. :)

Security, standard of living, . . .

At least she seems to have no problem that you are retired. I know a guy who has a wife about 15 years younger than he is. He is now 65 and I think he would really like to retire. They should have enough if they live a reasonably frugal lifestyle. She doesn't want him to quit. She is worried about her own future security. But not so much she will go out and get a job.

They should all move to Beverly Hills where there is a much higher average income; everyone drives a nice car, and has a nice house...what are the poor people in the inner city thinking

Sure, move. I wouldn't recommend Beverly Hills, but I would suggest leaving a depressed area in favor of a growing area. I don't see any downside to taking that risk. As Bob Dylan said, "When you ain't got nothin', you ain't got nothin' to lose."
