Not a bad deal. If I needed a new phone I would probably go this route. A few months back a got a free LG Stylo 3 when I switched carriers. Nothing fancy but does the job and the photos are pretty decent. I'm sure camera buffs would want something better. For a trip like the OP is taking, I would probably buy a point and shoot camera as already suggested.
