I think that the ILs *were* lost... the other sister and her husband had a tracking device put on their car... that is the only reason we even knew about that incident and to call the police.
ILs were embarrassed and (of course) denied they were lost, but there is no doubt.
And the NH sister gave them a GPS and set up "HOME" so that they could use if if need be, but for some reason they did not.
We all feel that there may soon come a time when we have to take action despite any hard feelings, but for now, the siblings do not think it is time.
