For the forum men.... Viagra?

Revatio is generic Viagra (same exact drug) but used to treat pulmonary hypertension. It's available in smaller does and is MUCH cheaper.

A friend of mine was telling me about that a few months back. He was talking about low daily dosage of Sildenafil, that I believe he took with something else.
It was through a hypertension Dr and he claimed good results, but I did not ask about frequency. In the USA you need a prescription, whereas here you don't.

A few years back "expat sex parties" were all the rage here in Lima and guy's would come from around the world to attend. The sponsor for the parties was an expat who owned a company that made "lovelube" and "lovelube condoms". He would also import a generic viagra from Vietnam and sell it at these parties for maybe 1 dollar a pill. The host of the parties was an Aussie who owned several casino's around the country.

Now, it is no longer available as the sponsor is in jail for "human trafficking" and possibly murder and the host has moved to another part of the country.

Be sure to check for physical causes first because that is how we found out DH had prostrate cancer at 49.

What is the MG strength you're taking? Cialis hasn't worked as well for me but I too would like more spontaniety.

I believe you can take up to 100 mg, but you'd want to confirm that. 60 mg seems to be my magic number. If I take 100 mg it gives me a headache.

Cialis 5mg daily is actually what I prefer. You can get that prescribed as treatment for benign prostatic hypertrophy, and it really works well for me (for treatment of BPH). However, it's not generic for another year or two, so it's pretty pricey still. Once it goes generic, I plan on switching back from sildenafil (Revatio/Viagra) to Cialis generic.

I don't "need" ED pills, but it is nice to halve your down time and double your count.

Side effects are worse for Tadalafil (Cialis) because it lingers for 3 days. Delayed back ache, stuffy nose, flushing, visual trail disturbances. Sildenafil (Viagra) is better since it is shorter lasting and has less side effects since it leaves sooner.

The US pricing is outrageous, so going to sketchy firms in India has netted some hit or miss samples. These usually have weird names that sound like Indian variants of the real names.

Also some US "peptide" firms sell liquids, the advantage is you avoid US Customs.

Recently the patent has expired in Europe for Viagra and the UK has started selling it OTC. The price should start dropping and hopefully some European sellers come online with legit generics from reputable companies.

Amen to this. A dear friend didn't realize that his decreased sexual stamina was a result of other conditions- he subsequently had a stroke at age 64 and it turns out that not only was his BP too high (he kind of knew that) but he was also diabetic and had high cholesterol. Now he's learning to walk again.

I'd hope that any competent doctor would do thorough tests before prescribing ED remedies.

So funny this question popped up (pun intended).

I go to a monthly ladies lunch for our over 55 neighborhood, and the subject arose (another pun intended) at yesterday's luncheon. The wives HATE it. YMMV

DW hates the "Will you be ready in 40 minutes" effect of using Viagra. She prefers spontaneous. But Cialis does not cut it. I tell her that 40 minutes of foreplay is a bonus!

I am waiting for the sublingual spray that works in 5 minutes. Because sometimes 40 minutes is too short. I have tried grinding up Viagra and putting it under the tongue without success.

First world problems! My enlarged prostate has had an impact.

Have tried Levitra , Viagra and Cialis . All good but my urologist uses a compounding guy here in Houston for straight tadalfil . I highly recommend these guys appearently they mix this up to FDA standards and are approved anyhow 20MG 10.00 each
And yes the POT does enhance the experience ! If anyone is interested I can give the pharmacy's name privately.

I hope this isn't TMI, but for ladies over a certain age, the tissues dry out "down there" and sex can be downright painful. I can see why some of them are not happy. There's a remedy but it ain't cheap- Premarin cream, available by prescription, and it usually runs about $350 for a supply that lasts 2-3 months. (There are pills, too, but since extra hormones can cause increased cancer risks, I liked the idea of something applied directly rather than pills.) If you know them well enough, you may want to volunteer this.

Never taken Cialis. Stuffy nose and dry eyes are a side effect.

If you don't have insurance that covers this, pill are in excess of $60 apiece for Viagra. The generic that was approved in the Fall for the U.S. is cheaper but not that much. So, the last two trips to Mexico I stocked up with Sildenafil 100 mg and break them in half for use. DO NOT DECLARE THEM ON CUSTOMS (I HAD A BIT OF AN ISSUE WITH THE QUANTITY I BROUGHT BACK). I think I'm good for a couple years if I remain "an active senior". Cost in Mexico was around $2.00-$2.50 per pill.

Yes, it might take a bit of planning (45 min to an hour lead time) with the DW but that doesn't matter when you both are in agreement on the end game.

BTW, very few times is this a "mental" issue and weed is an enhancer not a solution.

I'm a user and I'm dang proud of it. All in favor say "aye".

I've heard rectal administration works in 10 minutes.

As pointed out already, times have changed. Now the generic version (same thing) is 66 cents for 20mg so for your 50mg dose it would cost you $1.66 and no trip fees or smuggling.

Also aren't there various lubes as well

I never found one that worked. The Premarin addresses the actual issue: a shortage of estrogen. It actually takes a couple of months of use before the effects are noticeable.

I had prostate surgery a few years ago. Viagra worked every time post-op until the last year or so. No TMI here, but frankly now it takes planning over a couple of days. After being married for almost 45 years, though, lack of spontaneity isn't that critical. My wife learned all of my intro moves a long time ago, so in a sense there hasn't been spontaneity in quite a while! Again no TMI, but with a fully understanding wife there are many ways to show romance.

I've had several doctors offer viagra for help with medicine side effects or side effects of medical conditions. I've never taken them up, because I'm not happy with the published viagra side effects, particularly heart ones.

Also, as a matter of principle, I don't see the difference why women should have such drama getting birth control pills and us men just get handed viagra, another artificial sex aid.

But what if it is not really the Viagra they dislike, but the husbands? The last thing they may want is increased "attention" from someone they no longer feel attracted to...but nobody is about to admit that in public.

I keep coming back to your post, realizing my new PCP did nothing. Except what she should have....

When I moved here 20 months ago I took no prescriptions, other than androgel for low T. My new PCP says I don't need it. She's also told me three times how male doctors overprescribed HRT to women fifty years ago.

I've had to go back on BP meds, been depressed. My BPH became worse and she started me on Flowmax. My sex drive was zero and the 5mg dose of cialis was no longer working so she prescribed 20mg. I can only eat 1500 calories daily to maintain my weight. All symptoms of low T.

After a year of my complaints; she agreed to send me to a urologist if I'd see a shrink first. [emoji12]

The urologist looked at the same bloodwork she had done and said "you have almost no free/available T. Stop taking Flowmax for BPH, go back on OTC(saw palmetto) pills and here's a script for androgel."

Six weeks later I'm not depressed, lost 5 pounds eating 2K cals daily. My BPH is much better on OTC pills, and I've reduced my beta blocker by 50%. The DW is tired of sex and most the time I don't need any medications for sex.

Yeah guys see a urologist. Yeah MRG get a new PCP.

I'm The Intended User of These Meds

I am 64. I have had diabetes since I was six years old, for about 58 years and it has taken a fearsome toll on my body. I have many, many horrible side-effects from the diabetes including loss of sensation in my hands, legs, feet, and other critical areas, as well, as one that really plagues me, gastro-paresis. I have had a kidney transplant, which literally saved my life. I will be forever grateful to my donors and my donors' families. I am a naturally happy person, and having a "good attitude" has really paid off over the years.

I am one of the few people who ED meds were originally intended for. The money is made on the recreational use of these drugs.

They do not enhance mood. They made possible the physical changes necessary to have sex. The usual effects of being in-the-mood and and being ready are often confused.

I have been using Viagra since about 2000, I think. I had been having problems for about 15 to 20 years with no hope in sight.

It was extremely frustrating to have sexually related problems. I was still entirely interested in my head but physically unable to to commit. I had a two-fer-one problem. I had the loss of sensation and the partial loss of the nerves that control the muscles needed to maintain an erection. In diabetes all the nerves are affected and that means in both directions, to and from the brain.

I need about a 30 minute warning and have a four hour window to have some fun with my wonderfully understanding and loving wife of 42 years. We are not spontaneous. This drug has been a real life-saver for us.

After insurance, I pay approx $5.00 apiece for the 100 mg ones. Half a pill used to work but lately I need a whole one. When Viagra becomes legitimately available as a generic, it will be an ordinary co-pay for us.

Feel free to ask any embarrassing questions. After what I have been through wrt diabetes, nothing bothers me anymore!

Mike D.

There could be another issue, a big (should not use that word here..) lack of warm up.
I seriously blame the nearly total lack of SEX ed. in high school.

So where do folks get their ideas?
Just watch any move with a romance scene in it and you will see foreplay consists of 1 minute of kissing and carressing, and then they are doing it and the woman is loving it.
So FAKE it should be banned.

Maybe at these meetings someone should ask does the cuddling and foreplay before actual sex last for 20 or 40 minutes ?
