For the forum men.... Viagra?

I am 64. I have had diabetes since I was six years old, for about 58 years and it has taken a fearsome toll on my body. I have many, many horrible side-effects from the diabetes including loss of sensation in my hands, legs, feet, and other critical areas, as well, as one that really plagues me, gastro-paresis. I have had a kidney transplant, which literally saved my life. I will be forever grateful to my donors and my donors' families. I am a naturally happy person, and having a "good attitude" has really paid off over the years.

I am one of the few people that ED meds were originally intended for. The money is made on the recreational use of these drugs.

They do not enhance mood. They made possible the physical changes necessary to have sex. The usual effects of being in-the-mood and and being ready are often confused.

I have been using Viagra since about 2000, I think. I had been having problems for about 15 to 20 years with no hope in sight.

It was extremely frustrating to have sexually related problems. I was still entirely interested in my head but physically unable to to commit. I had a two-fer-one problem. I had the loss of sensation and the partial loss of the nerves that control the muscles needed to maintain an erection. In diabetes all the nerves are affected and that means in both directions, to and from the brain.

I need about a 30 minute warning and have a four hour window to have some fun with my wonderfully understanding and loving wife of 42 years. We are not spontaneous. This drug has been a real life-saver for us.

After insurance, I pay approx $5.00 apiece for the 100 mg ones. Half a pill used to work but lately I need a whole one. When Viagra becomes legitimately available as a generic, it will be an ordinary co-pay for us.

Feel free to ask any embarrassing questions. After what I have been through wrt diabetes, nothing bothers me anymore!

Mike D.

Thanks for your honest and deeply personal expression of issues you have faced.

You may want to try the generic version as it is available and your doctor my simply not have heard of it, or just in a habit of re-prescribing the brand name.

Just get an extra prescription of the generic (further back in the thread) and try it out, at your dosage will be 5 little pills, but they are cheap $20 for 30 pills without any plan.

If these are marriages of long duration, though, each partner's preferences should have been figured out decades ago. If not, no amount of viagra is going to help!

Today's older women lived through the sexual revolution. I certainly didn't learn about sex (other than the mechanics, plus warnings about pregnancy and STDs) from sex ed. What an idea! If you'd gone by our sex ed classes, you'd never know the whole business was meant to be fun!

There could be another issue, a big (should not use that word here..) lack of warm up.
I seriously blame the nearly total lack of SEX ed. in high school.

Can't overstate and no substitute for good oral stimulation of the right parts to get things heading in the right direction for both partners.

IMHO the side effects of ED drugs offset any sexual benefits.

And in the words of the famous philosopher Ron White, just because one ride is out of order doesn't mean they shut down the whole amusement park park.

I like having the extra edge or boost that they give you. Plus you will be ready again the next morning.

I initially tried viagra and cialis but didn't like the side effects headache, stuffy nose, seeing blue.

Now I take levitra with less side effects. I take only a very small amount maybe no more than 1/8 of the pill. Just get that little boost and less side effects sometime no side effects.

I have tried it with 420 and it does enhance the experience. I won't go into details here.

I guess everyone would be different on which works for you but I think the key is try to take the least amount to avoid the side effects yet get that horny high.

Forgot to mention. This stuff is way too expensive. I have been using Canadian Pharmacies for many years not just this but others. They will give you options on which country you want to buy it from which will make a difference in the price. I even bought some generic which were real cheap and work fine although seemed a little weaker. Pick the right pharmacy and you will have no problems.

I don't "need" ED pills, but it is nice to halve your down time and double your count.

Side effects are worse for Tadalafil (Cialis) because it lingers for 3 days. Delayed back ache, stuffy nose, flushing, visual trail disturbances. Sildenafil (Viagra) is better since it is shorter lasting and has less side effects since it leaves sooner.

The US pricing is outrageous, so going to sketchy firms in India has netted some hit or miss samples. These usually have weird names that sound like Indian variants of the real names.

Also some US "peptide" firms sell liquids, the advantage is you avoid US Customs.

Recently the patent has expired in Europe for Viagra and the UK has started selling it OTC. The price should start dropping and hopefully some European sellers come online with legit generics from reputable companies.
I've had good experience with the Indian imports after some extensive research. For generic Viagra of 100Mg I cut it in half. Tried the full dose once and ...well ... I don't need to be in that state for an extended, multi hour period of time.

Shoot guys, I just listen to that Corvette exhaust for a minute followed by flexing my other muscles in front of the mirror and yell, "hey Honey, you doing anything now?"

;);)

A penile implant is the only option left for us and insurance doesn’t cover it. So please enjoy what you have.

I needed Cialis a few years ago after I was diagnosed with Diabetes but once I was able to get my BGL under control the medicine was no longer needed.

At times a small dosage gives it a boost and makes it more enjoyable for both of us.

As George Carlin would say, “Man on top, get it over with quick”...

Or Rodney Dangerfield:
“You want to get in the back seat and make out?”
“No, I’ll just stay up here with you...”

I thought that joke went something like

"My wife likes to fool around in the back seat.

But only when I'm driving"

Just when I thought the thread was petering out, up pops another post.

That sounds more like Rodney.

All joking aside, now I'm not sure if I want to be the straight man in this thread or not.

There is a newer alternative on the market in the same class as the others. It's called Stendra. So far so good. Husband says the side effects are mild and similar to others he has used from time to time. The biggest benefit is it's the fastest acting of them all which is very nice.
