Have appointment to go see another boat tomorrow. Forty four foot trawler with twin diesels. Has been upgraded to electric toilets with sanitizers. Hoping this boat will not have the dreaded "bad smells"

Nice!!
Keep us posted on your boat visit.

That is very nice! It would be fun to live on something like that for year or so.

Booked our trip to Glacier National Park. The Parks lodges rep asked " We have properties in Yellowstone too. Would you be interested in staying at Yellowstone as well?"
Sure - Why not - Yellowstone is almost on our way to Glacier.

Consider taking a drive down to Grand Teton and Jackson while in Yellowstone. It is spectacular.

Great suggestion! I've been to the Tetons, Jackson and Yellowstone several times, but never Glacier. I was looking for a route to Glacier and found good route through Yellowstone. But I might as well take 80 west and come up through Jackson and the Tetons. I could revisit some photo spots that I couldn't go to last time due to bear activity.

Yeah, Jackson! Have a couple cocktails at the "Million Dollar Cowboy Bar"

I certainly would, I've been there before - :)
I think I've been there too. Is that the place where the barstools are saddles?

Glacier was awesome. What's your plan? How many days?

Awesome pics! I can't wait to go to Glacier. But wish my plan was better. There was only 1 night of lodge/hotel openings available in park for the entire summer 2022. So we are doing 3 days at Glacier - 2 at Columbia Falls west of Glacier, 1 night at Many Glacier Lodge.

Taking the red bus tour day 1; driving, exploring and a little hiking along Going to the Sun Road day 2; and hiking out of Many Glacier Lodge day 3. I might try to add another day at the end by booking a hotel east of glacier.

We stayed at Glacier Park Lodge east of the park - beautiful timbered structure and gorgeous landscaped grounds. Worth a stop just to see the huge lobby even if you don't stay there. Food was OK, nothing special.

thanks - I thought I checked this place earlier - but now I see they have openings for the day(s) that I need. Perfect location for a last stop.

Those saddles are harder to stay on than a real horse.

I had taken a nasty spill on a mountain bike an hour or so before going to the bar. I remember the saddle being so uncomfortable that I had to leave after 2 beers. Not sure if my sore butt was from the saddle or bike fall.

Didn't make it two weeks into 2022 before the first major appliance breakdown (drop in stove top). The repair guy said it could be one thing ($500), if not that he'd replace thing #2 ($250). If those aren't the problem, then needs a new glass top ($900). Even though the guy has 40 years experience and works for a friend of mine, I had to take a hard pass on repairs. Next week getting a new induction stove for a whopping $1,600!

Oh, and we're having all of the kitchen cabinets redone/painted - $4K. But, that one was at least planned.

I never was a "horsey set" person. I don't think a saddle would be too good on my back. Will be BTD soon on specialist for lower back issues.

We (maybe just I) have decided we are going to have a "low spend" year this year. Last year we burned through $30 K on unbudgeted (unanticipated) upgrades to all kinds of stuff and some "loans" to kids and grandkids (gifts, I guess).

We will see how that goes....Oh, already this morning, DW was trying to convince me "I" need a new recliner......because this one has a small tear in it and needs to be cleaned. I said no way as I LOVE my OLD (5 years old) recliner.

Yes sir! I am in charge around here.....

As I’m out and about people ask me ‘what do you have planned for the weekend?’, I usually respond ‘I haven’t been told yet’.

Just ordered a Polaris Ranger UTV with snow plow and enclosed cab. If I have to plow snow, I’m going to do it without freezing.

I have been to Glacier NP twice, one to the east entrance and the other to the west entrance.

Both times, I did not get to go on the Going-to-the-Sun Road because it was too early, and the road was not open.

I think they try to open the road sometime in late June. I read somewhere that parts of the road sometimes have 50’ of snow on the road in places. We should get to drive GTTSR because we will be there in August, but I expect it to be crowded.

Is Glacier NP visit a BTD?

Maybe the lodges are overpriced?

I was looking at visiting Crater Lake and there is one lodge there, probably an exclusive concessionaire.

Prices are high, especially with view of the lake but the lodge gets poor reviews for comfort and cleanliness.

Main advantage is you have to drive some distance away from the lake to stay overnight in another accommodation because of the exclusivity.

Try the north entrance to Crater Lake sometime!
Same story.

So, when is the new recliner being delivered?
