What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

I don't like his humor either, sort of disgusting. You won't recognize him. Just forget his past performances.
based on your post we checked out 'The Spy'. you're right...he's a much better actor than comic. of course he could be a mediocre actor and still be better. we enjoyed the series...thanks for the recommendation!

Based upon recommendations here, I went to my local library and borrowed Succession (Season 1: 10 Episodes).

After the first two episodes, I didn't like the main characters and their self-absorbed attitudes, and was about to give up watching more. But then I read somewhere (IMDb comments perhaps) that one should give it until Episode 3 or 4 before abandoning ship. So I did. By Episode 4 or 5 I was hooked. (I particularly like the actor playing Greg. He's fun to watch.)

Also about the time Logan takes over. Actor has a great presence.

Yes I have a real issue latching on to a show where I don't actually like anyone. But after you get to know this bunch they are all more than one-dimensional, all just damaged, and have good and bad like anyone. There are many characters that are well developed. By season 2 woooo boy it's soooo good.

Re the Spy, I like SBC, and I like the series. It's his ability to morph so completely into those other characters - a staple of his comedy - that makes him a perfect actor for this role.

Also really enjoyed When They See Us. Harder to watch than most things given the subject matter, but very very well done.

I went one step further and researched the accuracy of the Spy series. Scary accurate and close to unbelievable. There's a couple of things they took dramatic license, but check out the pic of the real Cohen.

We're making our way through Corner Gas, a Canadian sitcom that is the opposite of the darker shows we usually follow. It's on Amazon Prime and it's easily one of the funniest shows we've ever watched. Tons of Canadian celebrities drop in for cameo characters: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corner_Gas#Notable_guest_stars

I recently discovered this one! I love the deadpan humor.

And it does make a nice break from the British murder mysteries I spend so much time watching!

I had lunch on Friday at the diner from "Duct Tape Forever"

With Dave Broadfoot in a cameo....saw him live once....better part of 50 years ago.

(Where is the diner?)

Succession is fantastic!

If you like Succession, you may want to give Yellowstone (Kevin Costner) a try. We’re enjoying that as well

It's not as classy as the pictures make it look...

Inside Bill's Brain: Decoding Bill Gates. Authentic documentary starring Bill Gates talking about his life, decisions and how his brain works.

we just finished the latest Ken Burns' film...Country Music. 16-hours over 8-parts. exceptional!

Since we have Dish and we have Primetime Anytime programmed to record all primetime programs on the 4 major networks, we try at least the pilots of many of the new programs.

Evil looks to be a bit creepy... not ususally my cup of tea but interesting.... time will tell.

Emergence looks interesting as well.... it is interesting to see a lead actress that is not drop-dead gorgeous and has a more normal body shape.

Also liked Bluff City Law, All Rise and The Unicorn.

After it won many Emmy's we decided to watch Fleabag. A bit over the top for DW.

Perpetual Grace LTD on Epix is the weirdest, funny, quirky oddball show I have ever seen. It is unique and brilliant, beautifully shot and acted.
A cross between Fargo and Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul with dialogue written as if by the offspring of a genetic mix of Aaron Sorkin and David Mamet.

Don't subscribe to EPIX but got a free preview this weekend. Saw the premier of 'Godfather of Harlem' this weekend and really liked it, based on a real life character, could be a very good series.

We stumbled on "Nothing Trivial" streaming on Prime. It is based in New Zealand & we've been hooked. Not my normal cup-o-tea, but very well done.

Binged watch Season 2 of Jack Ryan. I struggled getting into Season 1, but after several attempts, I did watch the entire season and thought it was good.

Season 2 has a much better story line and, at least to me, was easier to follow the subplots (maybe because I watched all 8 episodes back to back to back). If you are on the fence to watch, I would definitely give it a go.

Binged season 2 of The Kominsky Method. It was very funny and I enjoyed it as much as season 1. There were some unnecessary political jabs that seemed forced and had nothing to do with show storylines, but not too many to completely turn a person off.

There is a show on HULU that I will have difficulty explaining why I am recommending it. It is a show for (and about) teens and is probably not for adults. It is called "Looking For Alaska." It is well written with believable dialog and extremely well acted. I almost didn't start to watch it but am glad I did.

Again I can't really explain why you should watch it. To me it is just one of those rare "teen" show that I became addicted to -- "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer," "Veronica Mars," and "Anne With An E."
