What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Thanks, Nemo,

I have grown to enjoy well done whodunnit cop shows with my wife - but, cannot read anything even close to a mystery.

My wife., on the other hand reads mysteries voraciously ... will pass on the link to her!

If she runs short of authors.....I have a substantial list. :D

I'm finishing up the first season of Selling Sunset on Netflix. This show is real estate sales soft-porn and isn't recommended if you want to learn anything substantial about the real estate biz (for example, the show fails to describe how the overall commission is split among the broker, seller's agent, and buyer's agent). I'm watching the show to see the architectural features and decorating strategies often found in high-end properties. There is probably a HGTV series that does it much better, but I don't have access to HGTV with my current streaming options. In case you're wondering, I have no intention of ever living in LA, or anywhere close to LA. :)

The common denominator among the high-end properties I've seen on the show so far is floor-to-ceiling windows featuring great views. I was thinking along the same lines when I bought my relatively modest FL property a few years ago. My taste in decorating is similar to that found in the high-end staged properties on the show - keep it simple and uncluttered.

we just finished the first three seasons of Absentia on Prime Video. many, many, thumbs up! eagerly awaiting a decision from PV on season 4.

I just watched the trailer for this. It looks excellent! I have added it to my queue. It looks like perfect "treadmill viewing." :D

Yeah, she (Stana Katic) was the only reason to watch "Castle"-- as evidenced by its quick demise after she was forced (fired) off the show.

“Signs” on Prime. It’s a Polish subtitle series with a tangled web of crimes that feed off each other. Secrets, murder and cults plus more. It took a few episodes to get into it. Second season comes out in early 2021.

you will love it! we stayed up late a couple of nights to watch one or two extra eps.

I might have to save it for weekends, since I'm still w#rking for a few more months!

New Series to Watch--- its worth a look

Take a watch on Amazon. The series is called "The Worlds Toughest Race". Ive long been a fan of Survivor and the Amazing Race.....but this one is those on steroids! It is an eco-challenge over 11 days and appears to be 10 episodes. The teams are from all over the world and you see those elite teams (clearly the better racers) and those in their later years competing (those in their 60's). It is an inspiration to watch the sacrifice and passion for this team sport.
I'm exhausted just watching. IMO well worth the time.

I know this is a bit off topic, but I see this "large" window trend A LOT, especially on "Grand Designs" (there are two versions of the show: One in the UK and one in New Zealand) and I often wonder how much of a pain it would be to keep such large windows clean. We have three fairly large panes in the LR and I have to wash them at least every two weeks to keep them clean. I suppose if you are spending millions on a home, you probably aren't cleaning the windows yourself. :D

Has anyone watched "Yellowstone"? My FIL doesn't watch too much TV but he is enamored with this show and I am a bit curious.

We watch it. The plot is mainly about the political intrigue and wrangling between ranchers, Native Americans, outside developers, and state officials in Montana. The scenery is gorgeous and the horsemanship is impressive, but if you object to a lot of gore or "frontier justice" this would not be the show for you. Kevin Costner is excellent as the patriarch of the ranching family, but I suspect that some of the guys who play the cowboys are actual cowboys rather than actors, and there have been some some clunky scenes when one of them is acting with the real pros.

Yellowstone...currently weekly on the Paramount Network (carried on our local ComCast) and, I believe, on the new NBC Peacock streaming service (there may be others) is excellent! my only complaints?

- the hour goes by waaaaayyyy too fast.
- there are only 10-eps in the season

the excellent news? it's been picked up for a 4th season likely to start in summer 2021.

I just finished the second season - no improvement. :(

This show hasn't done anything to increase the rather low respect I have for real estate sales as a career. I'm hardly an expert with only 3 residential real estate transactions during the 55+ years I've been on the planet (two purchases and one sale). I've had good luck marginalizing if not completely eliminating real estate agents from the process. The agents don't mind if I do more work than is typical for a client as long as they collect the same commission. :)

Yes, I will watch the third season. There is a place for real estate soft porn in my life. I will continue to fast-forward through the silly adolescent cat-fighting among the agents. Who can watch that stuff?
