Blow That Dough! -2021

I don't post much on here, but since my accounts are dropping rapidly, I thought Should. We have been planning a major upgrade to our weekend home with the plan to make it our primary residence. With Covid, we have been dealing the start of the reservations. But two weeks ago, the heavy equipment arrived. It will take most of the next year due to shortages. But we will have a new master bath with walk in closets for her and a 24 by 40 foot garage for me. The property is lake front and fairly steep, so excavation costs are high. But I have waited 20 years for this and am more than a little excited now that is has started.

That is awesome! When you have that lakefront steep property it is impossible to not dream big. 20 years was a long wait and congratulations on getting it started. I am a little envious for the steep terrain excavation challenge, as that is my line of work.

Outstanding!!! Please if you would like to keep the crowd informed on your new residence. Sounds like a wonderful place!

skyking1 >> thanks it was a long drug out deal but with persistence, I finally got what I set out to do, of course with the help of many others also.

kitchen computer

Small scale blow that dough, I bought a chromebook, $170, -for the kitchen-. I like to cook. I like to do recipes I find online. And a backup computer seems like a good idea.

Nice! I love Chromebooks as I have two of them. One in the garage and one on my lap!:D

Took advantage of the free shipping for Veteran's Day at Olma Caviar and got me 100g of Russian Osetra and 100g of Paddlefish and the fresh cream of course.

Only $320 - :)

Our DS and DIL were planning a birthday party for our grandson's 3rd birthday. They wanted all of us (extended family and a few friends) to meet at a Japanese sushi and hotpot place for lunch. I explained that when she invited people she should let them know in advance that they were expected to pay for their own meal. It was "all you can eat" for $16.99.

When DS and DIL left that night DH and I looked at each other and said, "Let's pay for the whole group's lunch." If we both thought of it, it must be a good idea!

The party was last Saturday and we treated for a group of 14 plus a few kids. Everyone had a lovely time, trying different items and of course there was cake and ice cream.

The food was not my type of food at all. I don't eat raw fish in Ohio, I don't eat spicy stuff and all you can eat for lunch is not my style. On top of that, my food (beef hibachi) was cold! Rather than complain and criticize I looked around at everyone else really enjoying it all and I felt such joy that DH and I could pay for all this.

After lunch all the family met at a park and we took pictures.

Yes, we blew some dough and I ENJOYED IT!

All you can eat at the sushi bar for seventeen bucks is a bargain. Glad you had fun!

Robbie, we talking the same paddlefish, the prehistoric the one's with the long shovel bill? If so, that is a huge sport here snagging them. People come from all over the US to snag them for about a 7 day season. Great caviar from the huge fish that is all saved when fish are cleaned.

Yes it is. The best of American Caviar! And way less expensive too - :)

Interesting I get a lot of people that come from out of state to snag them on my place. They come down stream with boats and use the shore line to fish. You can't use a boat for fishing for them, not legal.

I live right here and never have fished for them. I need to do it this next spring and not going to have any excuses not too. LOL

^ I have a few guys that fish them and will have the equipment for the job. You need big heavy equipment to fish them buggers. The pure white meat is very good. The rest you can do like the info you have posted.

Thanks Robbie.

Husqvarna backpack leaf blower. Highest powered one I could find short of a commercial one.
Nice!
That is going to be on my list as well. I help out an elderly lady with some yard work. She has a Stihl and not sure the size but it is fantastic and a pleasure to use. I still have an electric one but don't use it much because of the cord thing.

So, I have a lot less money to count now, but I'm very excited about the new purchase. I will get much enjoyment from the new property.

Congratulations Street - it is nice when those deals finally land!

I have an older Stihl that is underpowered to tackle leaves up to a foot deep. And I have a tow behind lawn sweeper that is tough to maneuver. Needed something powerful and maneuverable.

Can't go wrong with this, we have had one for 10 years and it is still going strong.

I did some research and found that Husqvarna is the brand to get. Good to know that you have a 10 year old still going strong.

I have a BTD coming up in a couple of weeks, I need a bone graft on my Number 3 right Molar and an implant after that. OUCH! in more ways than one.

Just put a deposit on a new car at way over MSRP (first time in my life), no choice - as we suddenly unexpectedly became a 1 car household (details in earlier threads so please don’t ask). If that’s not BTD I don’t know what is. :banghead:

Yep, it hurts when you know, you are paying more then you should. I been there, done that also. You will need to enjoy that car more. Lol

Got the inspiration from RobbieB - and my wife and I wanted to experience it at least once in our lives. Ordered up 28g Beluga Sturgeon caviar, 28g Russian Osetra caviar, and 113g Imperial salmon roe from Olma. Should be a nice way to celebrate the upcoming holidays.

$237

Ouch! I was lucky and got mine on Sept 30th at full MSRP and that hurt too. I can only imagine how you must feel. Crazy times.
