Finished a biggie office unit 7'x12' with some custom features. Installation was a bear.

^Very nice surewhitey! Lots of work in that one.

Yeah, the most stressful (& challenging) is fitting everything into a closed space and making it fit with minimal spacers. The middle shelf was final cut & assembled on site. Everything else fit perfectly. I've found that dados are your friend for all assembly, but especially for the on site assembly.

Had a friend help haul it all upstairs and put in place. Now off to Italy!

I started this project in 2020, finished it in 2021 but too late for planting. This year my wife was able to plant early and it came in nicely.

I started with lumber from a couple of old ground level decks. A lot of it was crooked and unusable but I sorted through it and was able to use a good 80% of the wood along with other assorted lumber that I had lying around. My wife originally wanted a raised planter bed about 16' or so but I realized that I had enough wood to make a 20' x 20' planter that would also serve as a shelter for a fire pit. Framing started:

Framing completed and faced with purchased fence boards. Shingles from garage roof being laid out in place of landscape cloth, saved a trip to the dump:

Landscape cloth lined the inside and topsoil added:

16 yards of 1.5" granite gravel was added late summer last year to the planter area plus around the deck and garage:

Nice! Good job reusing the wood. That saved a bundle. Looks like a great area to relax and enjoy the fire.

Music Lover, that is beautiful! Looked like a fun project and great job.

Saving money was a bonus, but I'm more happy that a pile of unused crooked lumber which had become an eyesore was able to be used. I tore apart the old decks in spring 2019 and dumped the lumber in the back yard. I looked at the pile all summer and then most of the next summer before deciding on a project.

My new lid installed. Fits perfect! Works good too, full length SS piano hinge.

Turned an old Jeep grill into workshop wall art.
So cool Ronstar. For my workshop, I want to do something funky with my old mechanical clock movement, maybe creating my own mad scientist clock face. Maybe next winter.

Thanks - I like your clock idea! There’s probably some YouTube videos out there to give you some ideas.

WOW!
That is very creative! I remember in a post that you went to pick the grill up from out of state.

I like it a lot.

Thanks - I found a YouTube video where a guy used a string of 5 Christmas village lights to light his grill. So I got the lights from Amazon, drilled out the backs of the headlights and turn signals, and installed the lights in the holes. I didn’t try to get the original lights working.

A friend's daughter makes and sells rustic home decor items. She wanted some tool totes to hold floral arrangements. I whipped up 5 of them - she has to paint/ decorate them.

I need to use up some scraps. Thanks for some motivation.

That was a fun tutorial to watch. You make it look so easy! Lol

Nice Ron!

Have you ever tried using glue with sawdust for nail hole fill? It is harder to work with, but if I get the mix right, it can cause the holes to just disappear.

Definitely use this on walnut or cherry or any colored woods...
