And what power that must have been. That ball seemed to be carried to the fence on an updraft or something. It just didn't seem to have the distance - but then it just cleared. Amazing!

It was a near line drive with a slight tilt upwards. It was still traveling slightly upward when it hit the seats. Even in the stadium it wasn’t a certain homer to us for a few seconds. Unlike Seagers blast that was a boom.

One thing though. This series will likely be tough and close. Those Diamondbacks are gamers. Seems like every one of them is blazing fast. A single is a double for them with all the stealing.

Both bullpens already got taxed last night.

No, it was not traveling upwards when it hit the seats. It was clearly on a downward arc and it barely cleared the wall. Still, he definitely muscled that ball for a HR and not many players could have done it.

You can see it here.

Home run: 0:38 to 1:08; Downward arc: 0:43 to 0:45

Barely clears the fence 3:36 or thereabouts.

I'm stoked because I get to see all 3 games when I'm in Phoenix starting tomorrow.

I like Pfaadt over Scherzer on Monday. I don't think Scherzer will last too long, meaning Texas will be into their bullpen early. Since Tuesday's game is a bullpen game, that could cause problems for Texas on Tuesday, if Bochy has to go to the bullpen early on Monday.

Perhaps I’m seeing it through red and blue colored glasses, but it still looks to me like it’s traveling on its same trajectory when it hits. Doesn’t matter of course.

Series is definitely on with 3 big games to be played in Arizona.

Whew. Rangers needed that game. Bochy has his challenges tomorrow. Rangers lineup needs to be much hotter. Worried about the injury situation.

The Rangers had one good inning tonight. As it turns out, that's all that was needed.

Corey Seager was sitting on a changeup and he didn't miss it. The 2nd longest HR in his career and the hardest hit HR in WS since exit velocities began recording in 2015.

I don't think Garcia will be back for the rest of the Series.

Was saddened to hear about the passing of Rangers great Frank Howard yesterday. He lived very near me and have met him a few times.

We are friends with his daughter and our son friends with his grands. A humble gentle soul. He will be missed.

I remember Frank Howard and his towering HRs. Also, he was always vying with Harmon Killebrew for the AL HR title in the late 60's. Howard was about the only thing going for the lowly Washington Senators back then.

First pitch of Game 3 of the 2023 World Series. A beautiful night, roof open at Chase Field, about 80 degrees at game time. We got lucky and found a parking spot only 3 blocks from the ballpark and for only $40. Most other lots were $80 to $100.

Game outcome was not what I was hoping for as Texas beat my Diamondbacks 3-1. I like our chances tonight in the bullpen game as Lovullo has his best relievers rested and Bochy, not so much.

How big is that Chase ballpark? Center seems very deep and both left and right look deeper than average as well.

Rangers hit a couple balls I thought had a chance, but were routine outs. Rangers truly live by the long ball. Only maybe 2-3 players with any speed at all. And one of those was Garcia.

It's 330 ft. down the lines, 374 to right/left center and 407 to straight away center. But not only is it 407 to center but to get a HR here you have to hit the wall above that horizontal yellow line, which is 20 ft. high. Not only that, but it's 413 ft. to those "corners" on either side of dead center. It's got a LOT of outfield.

Yes, Alex Thomas, who is speedy and likes to play somewhat shallow ran down a couple of fly balls in deep center that would have been out in a lot of ballparks. Mitch Garver hit one that Thomas caught at the CF wall in the 9th inning.

Christian Walker's double in the 2nd inning went out to a spot in deep right center that would have been a HR in a lot of parks.

I like to call Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark, the "Great American Smallpark." Philadelphia's Citizen Bank Park is another band box.

3rd inning and 10 to 0... Looks like a blowout in the making.

Go Rangers.

Not quite yet Dandy Don Time. Plenty of teams come back from 3 - 1 deficits. My Cubs did it in 2016.

:LOL::LOL::LOL:
Well at least they [-]are[/-] [-]making[/-] made a game of it.

Diamondback pitching was a fright show but also treat for Ranger bats.

No Garcia? No problemo!

Needed the Ranger bats and they brought them. Hopefully they can tomorrow as well.

Now I know what Rangers fans felt like in Game 2.

Bad time for Semien's bat to wake up if you're a D-Backs fan.

Three wins in a row. Seems unlikely but it can be done. I'm gonna stay positive and say it looks like the D-Backs may have some momentum to build on from the late innings last night. Also Zac Gallen is very tough at home.

Series hasn't been close enough for me to follow. If it goes to a game 6, then I'd follow.

As for winning 3 in a row, best to look at 1 game at a time. I remember back in the 2016 WS. Cleveland up 3-1 in Series vs Cubs. Logically, I said, series was over. But breaking down game by game, the Cubs' starting pitchers matched up well.

Unlikely to come back, but possible.
