NFL 2023 Season

Hard to believe that a few weeks ago the Packers were 2-5, and playing some really bad football. In several of those losses, they didn't score in the first half and dug themselves some big holes.

They played 4 good qtrs of football last night.

Totally bad unnecessary roughness call by the refs. I think Mahomes (good play on his part) purposely slowed down to draw the call.

Totally bad non-call after as easily should've been pass interference.

The hail mary at end I thought wasn't enough contact to make a call. Actually a fair non-call.

The worse part of the game was Chris Collinsworth constantly raving about Mahomes saying he's going to march the Chiefs down to win instead of just letting the game play out.

I was at the sportsbook late yesterday and was very tempted to put a $100 on the Texans to go all the way and win the SB.:2funny::ROFLMAO:
Why, well, at this time, they have a 78% chance of making the playoffs and then it's only a few more games to the SB. Then, who knows. Hey stranger things have happen,,,, I just can't think of any at the moment. :)

Anyway, IIRC, $100 bet "now" would get me $5,500 if they won the SB. I might be willing to risk (donate) $100 ... But a $1000, not so much. Note, numbers may have changed with Houston's win yesterday.

With Tank out for the rest of the season, place your bets on SF and Dallas. :)

I'll be betting on Dallas but I do love long shots like Houston is now. :) Small bucks can get huge payouts. Makes it fun, for a while :)

I would not be surprised if the week 18 Texans-Colts game becomes a mini-playoff game - winner gets in, loser gets knocked out.

That's why it's a bad idea to gamble while drunk.

Well I haven't been drunk in a very long time (decades) but after a few beers I can certainly make some decisions I wouldn't normally make. It's no wonder why they give gamblers free drinks.

I'd like to nominate Patrick Mahomes for crybaby of the year. Your teammate lined up offsides. It's not the refs fault.

I'll concede that the guy lining up offsides negated a really great heads up play by Kelce.

Great play by Kelce. However, I agree with you. The player was so far offsides it could not, should not have been ignored. If refs want to give warnings, that's fine. But if they don't get around to it for some reason, or choose not to, so be it.

The Eagles were called for the same infraction in last nights game too. It happens.

^^^^
They looked really good yesterday while taking apart the Eagles, another great team.

Yes, they looked in control the whole game. I think the air got let out of the Texan's balloon for the balance of the year.
That one (Texans) was hard to watch. Maybe it was just one of those days... Maybe.

I'm a Chiefs and Bears fan, but, Buffalo is my next choice to make it. By beating my Chiefs, they still have a chance for the playoffs among a host of teams at this point.

I think both the Chiefs and the Bills will be significant participants in the post season. And to be clear, I really like Mahomes and his complaints last night on that offside call seemed both out of character and out of order.

Have to agree that Mahomes was out of line but damn, that was a pretty play. If the Chiefs can get their WRs up to par they still have a chance at the SB. If not, they’ll be making a quick exit from the playoffs if they get in. At this point I’m not wholly convinced they’ll even make it in.

For my long shot team I’m taking the Browns. Wonder what the odds are on that. Hey Car-guy, did you happen to notice?

Related to the Kelce play yesterday, what is the best ‘non-play’ that you can think of? Various long receptions called back due to an illegal shift or something pop to mind but those are somewhat common.

Anybody have one to beat that lateral and game winning touchdown?

Were it not for the offsides if the play had been good it might have been the best play of the season, but I love those tricky plays.

Makes me wonder why teams don't do that by design more often since once a receiver gets the ball the defense converges on them.

~68% to 81% chance to make the playoffs, as of today. Depends on who is making book.

That was a perfect backward pass by Kelce. Obviously WR did line up off sides.

Even if there was no penalty, there was plenty of time left for Josh Allen and The Bills to make a comeback.
