What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Finished #5 of 8 limited series called "The Gentlemen" on Netflix. Very good. Quirky drama action. And it's British!

Three episodes into Parish on AMC. Stars Giancarlo Esposito who played Gus Fring on Breaking Bad. So far so good. Lots of action, suspense, and intrigue. Esposito plays Gray Parish, a struggling taxi company owner with a mysterious past who gets dragged into a deal with a New Orleans' crime family. If you check it out, I suggest avoiding watching the end of episode preview for the following week as IMHO, it sometimes contains spoilers.

Two episodes into "Trigger Point", a British show about a police bomb disposal unit. One of the executive producers is Jed Mercurio, who also produced the fantastic "Line of Duty" and "Bodyguard". It stars Vicki McClure, who was one of the main characters, Kate, in "Line of Duty." So I had high hopes going into it.

It's a decent watch but it's not as compelling as "Line of Duty" (what is, though?) I would give it a 7 out of 10. Each of the two seasons are six episodes long so I will at least finish S1.

It's on Brit Box and Peacock.

Looks like Blue Lights S2 is airing. Now it’s in BBC, and Brit Box will follow, but no date has yet been announced.

Four episodes in now. I know nothing about bomb defusing (except for what I've seen in movies and on TV) but man, oh man, these bomb disposal people do some really dumb things. Did the writers do any research whatsoever? I'm past the point of quitting and now I'm watching partly to see what incredibly stupid things the writers will have these characters do with the next bomb.

<SMH>

My rating is now a 6 out of 10, and slipping.

I don't know if you ever saw the old British series from 1979 called Danger UXB (dealing with unexploded bombs during the Battle of Britain) but as I recall, it was quite good. Anthony Andrews starred. Available on Acorn I believe.

You might like this show much better. It’s an oldie but a goodie - Danger UXB!

The series chronicles the exploits of the fictional Royal Engineer Tunnelling Company 97, which has been made a bomb disposal unit to deal with the thousands of unexploded bombs ("UXBs") in London during the Battle of Britain.

You might be able to get the DVDs from a public library. Or maybe not. Well worth the effort.

That sounds interesting. I'll see if I can get it.

According to justwatch.com it's not available for streaming. Dang.

Seinfeld was annoying. The same way Curb Your Enthusiasm was annoying. Then later I found out that they were both created by the same guy. No wonder.

IMO, 'Curb' was more cringe-worthy comedy than 'Seinfeld' which, for us, was one of our all-time favorites...must-see-TV! The last season of 'Curb' was a huge disappointment.

Hmmm. We gave up on Parish right around the second commercial break in Epi 1. Very dark and, frankly, boring. Maybe we were a bit hasty as we like 'Chicken Man' from Breaking Bad .

Not the greatest quality but if you search on youtube you can watch episodes with ads. Maybe watch one and see if you like it then maybe buy used dvds on ebay.

Started "Halo" Seasons 1 & 2, 2 episodes and yawing a little. Dystopian video game rendition. But lots of action so I may persist for a little longer.

Just finished Travelers on Netflix.

Tried The Regime, didn't make it 30 minutes.

Just finished Rebel Moon Part 2 (Netflix).
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt23137904/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

This was a much-anticipated sequel, at least as far as we are concerned, to Part 1 which was released last year. A comparison to Star Wars is unavoidable but the story is well written and acted. And the visual effects are over the top. If you liked the original Star Wars trilogy or part I of Rebel Moon then you'll like this as well. The Part 3 script is reportedly under repordevelopment but I don't believe Netflix has made a decision one way or the other. Keeping our fingers crossed.

5-stars out of 5.

Counterpoint. I find the first part a typical Snyder "splosion" fest with poor writing and plot. The acting barely made it watchable.

The second part was worse. Far worse. Honestly one of the worst things I've watched in a long time. Not even enjoyable as a popcorn movie. YMMV obviously.

I finished "Fallout" It was enjoyable but dumb. Again good acting. Decent writing. Simplistic plot. Don't expect to much (and you must enjoy dystopian post apocalytic scenarios to get it) and you might enjoy it too.

Anyone watching Fallout (Prime)? My DH absolutely loves it. I enjoy it as well. Very well made. Sci-fi with a retro vibe.

Ageed, as I enjoyed the Fallout video game much more, but the tv episodes kept me somewhat interested.

DW & I are bingeing our way thru the 5 seasons of Babylon 5. Again. Halfway thru Season 5 now.

We really enjoyed in in the mid 90s when it first aired. There are so many subtle puns throughout the seasons, i.e. fast food from McBari's, under the golden bones.
