He's been saying this for several years so nothing new for many here, but since 'what do do about fixed income with the specter of an eventual but inevitable interest rate hike' has been a popular recurring topic for years now...here's Vanguard's Jack Bogle's take.

Not that it matters, but it's exactly how I split my fixed income assets several years ago. 50:50 between VBTLX and VFSUX. YMMV

The video is from 2010, although still very much valid in today's environment.
A combination of intermediate (total bond market) and CDs (with limited early withdrawal penalty) is where I am heading.
