Leaving behind a spouse who is not an investor?

Apart from consolidating our investment under one umbrella I think the most effective step I took was ensuring that we had an accountant and a financial advisor both of whom my spouse likes, understands, and meets with on a periodic basis. After that, it was the straighforward issue of a proper will with assets arranged in a way to minimize both tax and end of life administration issues.

My parents did this for me. As executor it made my work as their exutor so much easier from both an administrative perspective and an emotional perspective.
