I just read an article that the NFL offered her big $$$$ to join the halftime entertainment and she politely declined. She just wants to be a fan attending to support her man and not steal the limelight from the Chiefs. I like that attitude. Good for her.

I didn't read that. Good that she declined. Not only because the classy thing to do. But also, wouldn't give the impression that the NFL wants the Chiefs to win.

Funny (kind of sad actually) that the NFL sees $$$ and she's the one that not show bias.

We go to a Super Bowl party where the host always has a predictions game with prizes for the best scores -- who will win the coin toss, who gets the first penalty, brand of the first beer commercial, etc. He always has a question about naming the non-football playing celebrities in attendance. I'm pretty sure we're all going to get that one right this year.

I’m not seeing much support for the Niners so I’ll fix that mistake I watched football my whole life and was a big Niner’s fan until the Kaepernick debacle and all the politics in the sport that followed. I started watching again this year since that seems to have subsided somewhat. Purdy has been a great story and when the offense is clicking they can be hard to stop. But their defense has been inconsistent, particularly in the postseason. They better get it together for the Chiefs.

Same here but I live in a Kansas City suburb. You can't escape it. People wear Chiefs gear to church if it's a game day and last Sunday we had to promise that the church Annual Meeting after the service would end an hour before the game started. (And we did.) Since I was running the meeting, I put a freebie Chiefs T-short from the blood bank (they're a sponsor) on over my regular top at the beginning of the meeting as a reminder.

No clue as to who will win but I'll know from the explosions at the home of my fireworks-happy neighbor across the lake when the Chiefs score or win.

Nah! I watch "Proper" Football (Soccer to you folks, named football because you do not use your hands, otherwise it would be called Rugby ) on local TV.

The Premier league "Matches of the Day" are televised here in the USA every Saturday when in season at no charge.

I don't watch soccer - by that name or any other, and have no interest in so doing.

I'll say these things about the 2023/24 NFL season.

While I didn't think they could do it, they seem to have been successful at getting most of the political posturing out of the game. Thank God for that.

The officiating this year, while certainly not perfect, was a lot better than it has been in the past few years. I still think there's far too many poor judgement calls especially with roughing the passer/kicker and PI.

Even though my teams were eliminated early in the payoffs, I think the best teams earned the right to be in the SB.

So a much better season this year, IMO! YMMV

Right now it's approx 55% Chiefs win vs 23% 49ers win on our poll. That is pretty significant difference considering Vegas has the 49ers favored to win by 2 points on current betting. Total score over/under is at 47.5, be interesting to see if the game goes higher scoring (I think it will, FWIW).
