I’m not a fan of tattoos and would never get one myself, but if others want them, that’s their business. I do wonder whether the young people that have them now will regret them later. My niece has a small tattoo on her side that doesn’t show unless she’s wearing a bikini and it’s kind of cute, but even so, I wonder if she will like it when she’s 50 or 60.
As far as piercings, my ears are pierced but I never went for the multiple holes or piercings in other places. Tongue, nose, and eyebrow piercings gross me out, as do the stretched earlobes.
I realize this is somewhat of a generational issue, but at least the stuff we liked to wear 40 years ago could all be changed easily - long hair can be cut, facial hair can be shaved, weird color hair can be remedied. Not so easy with tattoos and huge holes in the earlobes. To me getting a visible tattoo is like deciding to wear the same shirt every day for the rest of your life. Can’t imagine a subject I’d want to see on my body forever.
