Work-related social events question

The employer I just left after 13 years told employees they have to cook for theirs, no catering, and it is being held on a weeknight (6pm) in the office lunchroom. The business will still be open and people on the evening shift who want to attend can choose to not be paid OR work and be paid.


Ba humbug. Glad I am out of there.

The yearly party is coming up this week. Being held in the afternoon, at a local sports bar. Need to purchase a ticket through paypal.

Minicorp has slid significantly. Three years ago it was free, held at an entertainment venue. We were very impressed.

Obviously, the bean counters could not come up with free this year. It is just as well, since I would have to use paid time off that I don't have...

I hate work events and generally do not participate. I made it 32 years at MegaCorp without playing that game.
