Verlander's 0-5 record in WS play is the worst in history. Since that does not jibe with his regular season performance it's probably a quirk of small sample size.
He's pretty solid in the other playoff games though, and there's plenty of pressure there too. 14-5, with WHIP less than his regular season career average.Or it's indicative that he wilts under the pressure. Other than his 2 starts vs. the Dodgers in the 2017 World Series (1 loss, 1 no decision) he's been lit up pretty good in the all the other WS games he's pitched in.
Losses are not a good metric to evaluate a pitcher. WHIP is better. Still, Verlander's WHIP in World Series games is terrible.

Agree, but I think you mean tonight's game 4, right?In a 7 game series, every game is pivotal. But tonight's game 3 could be THE pivotal game of the series.
Nats win and they have a comfy 3-1 lead.
Astros win and they take back home field and make the series a best 2 out of 3.
