Very joyous we celebrated Christ’s birth on Dec 18th. Now, after all the Gkids got well we had gifts tonight. 1st delayed Christmas in over 20yrs so I’m not complaining. But, it was weird.

Texting with my veteran buddies. Sharing photos from way back when. Some I’d not seen before.

Expended some anger and sadness by vacuuming tile, followed by light mopping with vinegar & water. Did over 2k sft. Kept me some what away from the news.

Vero Beach: Costa ‘D Esta

While we were still w*rking we skipped the luxury cars. Although we both had high end vehicles we kept them for years. Lived nicely beneath our means and went for the FIRE.

Watched a friend/neighbor get married in Canada via Zoom. Beautiful location in BC where he has a house on the waterfront. They plan to spend winters here in NV and summer there in BC. Their winters used to be spent in Mexico. Those days are shot due to crime and degradation of lifestyle.

Received a phone call from my best friend of over 30 years. She’d already passed the 5 year mark cancer free. She called to tell me it’s back. Looks like we have some fun to be had and things to be said. She’s in AZ so time to travel when the heat breaks. (I hate desert thermals!)

Happy for you! Sounds like a well thought out decision on your Son’s part. With a bonus granddaughter to love Son might give her another sibling too. Life comes with surprises!

United States Army

In my State (NV) I signed up online through the health district in my county. The cost was zero. No insurance questions were asked. This was the viral test. Not an antibody test.

Reading “Proper Names Geographical and Biographical” from Webster’s Upper School Level Dictionary of 1938. Such a wealth of information post WWI and pre WWII along with people known throughout the centuries. I would not have the time for this leisure of thought had I not retired.

Read the Amendments to the Constitution. Washed some new fabric I’m going to sew. Mopped the floors. Enjoyed Black Rifle Coffee. Watched my hockey team practice on AppleTV. Talked to a friend up in BC CA. Took a nap. Nice and calm day.

Put my long, gray hair in pigtails. Relaxed and read The Constitution of the United States of America. I plan to take nap before dinner time.

Opened up my grandfathers 1918 steamer trunk. I expected a somewhat quick clean out. Yikes!The contents go back to the Civil War.

Recovered from having Grand kiddos for a 2 night sleepover.

Made some of our traditional paprika style Mac salad to go with grilled ribeye tonight. Later I watched some episodes of Season 4 of the Sopranos while DH watched NHL from an earlier season.

Today when DH was out for a walk I hopped in the shower. I was thinking how it is to take my time. I retired back in 2015. It’s been a while since it was “get in get out, get dressed, go out and get in to work”. I hadn’t taken time to think of it from the shower perspective. Retired life is sweet.
