Here's the new foster cat in the Purron household. He was picked up as a stray by animal control and has both a upper respiratory infection and bad case ringworm. I named him Calvin which in Latin means "little bald one" on account of the bare patches he has due to the ringworm infection. I gotta tell you, this is one special little guy. He purrs up a storm and is in kitty heaven to be out of the shelter. I will have to keep him in a cage until he gets better but it's much bigger than what he had at the shelter. I know this guy will be adopted very quickly once I get him over his ailments.

I'm glad you're doing the good work. I have 2 cats, and my hands are full, and my jackets are furry, even the ones that aren't supposed to be. :)

This is what finally broke me of having pets. When my old dog died, I bid goodbye to years to having dog hair on all my clothes, the rug, the couch, etc.

Nice of you to do this, but I am done with pets.

Ha

I understand Ha. The important thing is you gave your dog a good long life. Thanks for doing that. BTW, I meant to mention something to you about Dune perfume after seeing your post the other day. It's been my favorite for years. DH likes it too;)

I have decided I am not replacing current cat, as I will not be capable of taking care of such in future.

I think they will have to pry my cat(s) out of my hands on the way to the Hospice.

But I can understand those who are done with pets.

When you named him Calvin I was thinking of the wonderful Calvin and Hobbes comic strip. (Ya I know Hobbes was a tiger not a cat and stuffed one but....)

Khan, there is an elderly woman who works with the KittyKind people in the local Petco. She is the kitty-socialization specialist. Her job is to sit and hold various of the kitties and pet them and make them purr.

'tis a tough job, but she bravely soldiers on! :)

You could set up ways to have a regular hit of kitty fur, but not have to be 24 hour cat caretaker.

ta,
mews

Good point Mews! There are lots of folks at the shelter I volunteer at who do this kind of work. They make a big difference.
