they opened the local munis - we are still open, walking only unless you own a cart. Tee sheet has been PACKED all month

I’ve had my eye on a couple push carts on Amazon. I was planning on walking this year in my league (9 holes). Every cart I had on my watch list is sold out. I guess a lot of people are going to be walking and social distancing. I hope I can get one of the ones I wanted before we start golfing again, but it doesn’t look good.

I buy equipment from these guys - when I walk I almost always carry my bag. I do have an old push cart but I don't use it:

I'm probably among the small percentage of golfers who prefer a pull cart to a push cart. I got mine at Goodwill for $10-15. Perhaps you can use an inexpensive used pull cart as an interim solution until you can find a push cart that you like.

Better hurry. Demand for used (and new) push or pull carts is undoubtedly increasing (I wouldn't sell mine at any price for the time being). ;)

A possible solution is a 4 wheel utility cart. It might not look pretty, but it would be functional.

Thanks. They do have a couple of the ones I have my eye on. I also remembered that Costco has one I was looking at. I'll have to make a decision and get on this if I want one this season.

ETA - I bought the Bag Boy Tri Swivel II from Budget Golf (thanks for the link). Being a first time purchase, they e-mailed me a code for 20% off. Plus the cart was on sale. It lists for $299, it was on sale for $199. With 10% off, I got it for $180 plus tax and free shipping. I'm happy

Now I just need the golf courses to open up and our league to start.

Wow, almost ten days and my last post is still the most current. Oh well, there's good news on the horizon. That woman from Michigan has revised the stay home order to allow GOLFING!!! I'm sure the courses will be packed, but I'm going to head out tomorrow with a friend and try to get in nine. We're not allowed to use carts so I'm very glad my push cart was delivered a few days ago. I'm all set. First round of the season.

I've also received word from the golf league that they're working out a framework to start the league up. Since it's a senior league (at risk individuals), they're aware the safety is a high consideration. I think the main thing they're trying to work out is the payment mechanism. We used to each go in and pay for our round just before our tee time. I'm thinking they will implement some form of touchless payment. Hopefully something on-line. That would be great. Personally, I wish they'd just collect a flat amount for the entire season. However, I understand that this season may be interrupted and many people would not want to risk a flat payment in such a unpredictable environment.

At one course that we play at the cashier does his thing and then you swipe your card at the counter.... at another one you push your card int0 the reader.

I just found out a few days ago that the golf courses in Sacramento County have been open. I started calling all the courses and they are so busy. I have a tee time on Wednesday. I'm so excited, I haven't played since mid February (took a month off due to elbow pain, then the shutdown).

nothing to report - got a new 56 degree rtx3 CB wedge and love it - been playing or practicing about every day - course open for walking and personal carts - members only

All the golf courses in my area are open but won't allow any type of league play or events where groups might gather, 19th hole/restaurants are also closed.

I think all they're trying to do is keep our normal time slot (Friday mornings) and do as much as possible to keep the league in tack. My guess is that will mean just showing up for your tee time, golfing and then recording your score from home. It will be interesting to see how this all folds out.

Got out and golfed 9 at a local course. Not a great course, but I'm not a great golfer, so all is good. Walked the 9 holes and used my new Garmin golf watch. Thanks to Midpack, I got it working with my phone. Pretty cool. Bottom line, it was good to get out. It's going to get very cold for this time of year the next few days so on a sunny and somewhat warm day, I was doing well. I like walking 9 holes. I'm not sure I'd want to go 18 but it's good exercise to walk it. I got almost 5000 steps in.

Good Job. I rode a cart for nine today and shot a 41 from the middle tees. That is a good score for me on any day.

Right now it's cart golf to save aggravating my knee again. Walking down hill is a killer. $7.50 is my Blow That Dough for the day.

5 guys 5 carts - that's golf baby!

It’s more like polo.

I used to work in pro shop. When closed at the end of the day, we’d all grab a cart and see how many holes we could get in before dark. Crazy.

Courses in SF Bay Area finally opening up; now able to play courses in other counties. Scheduled for Tuesday to play my first round in 90 days.

I expect it’s gonna be ugly...but fun!

After a few weeks completely closed down (boo!), we’ve been walk only for 5 weeks. We’ve played 9-10 holes mostly but walked 18 twice (about 6.5 miles), including yesterday, and paid dearly the day after. Fortunately next week we’ll have “carts allowed, family or household members can ride in the same cart, all others single rider.” Yeah!

Our league is suspended but some get together on ZOOM once a week to share lies. One of the guys had shoulder surgery and told us his doc told him he could play golf starting Wednesday. Someone immediately chimed in “that’s a miracle, you couldn’t play golf before the surgery...” [rim shot]

You may have forgotten all of your bad habits- I often play a better round
after a long lay off.

Good luck on your round and hit high and let em fly.

Traveled from VA to NC to play a course called Cross Creek. It is amply named as it has a lot of water running through fairways and around greens. Greens had just been aerated so the putting was pretty rough. The course is tight and the staff is friendly. I'll be back. Golf elbow is putting a strain on my game but It's worth toughing it out to get out in the fresh air and swing the club.

Well, it wasn’t too bad really: 85 which is pretty close to my HI score. Actually, it was fantastic just to be in the course, playing and socializing with friends. I hit the first four fairways and then started going right off the tee box; made a few ridiculously long putts including a 55 footer for birdie and a 25 foot sandy but, I also had two doubles & two 3-putts. Hmmmm...this is sounding like my pre-pandemic game. 🤪. Anyway, it was fun and I’m looking forward to the next time.

Sounds like a productive round(as in you had fun). My first here was an 84, with putting being the biggest problem. Played Monday for my 2nd round here and the putter was on fire. Shot a 77 with hitting 13 greens in reg. Not bragging at all, as my average is more like 82, so that was a great round for me.

Good luck on your 2nd round!!

I played a nice course 40 miles away at a casino/resort a couple of days ago. Shot 84 which is not bad considering the greens were lightning fast. So several 3 putts and a couple of chunk chip shots. About to play with my buds at my home course. Playing golf sure helps the mind in these mostly stay at home days.
