I am not a car guy and try not to drive much around town. Yea, you may have seen my posts on biking place to place. But, we recently traded in our old Malibu and purchased a Honda Insite which is a hybrid. This was the last year and the second time Honda has discontinued this model. But i expect the Civic and Accord are similar enough. One a little smaller. The other a bit bigger.
Last I looked, we are getting about 49 MPG city/HWY. I am guessing 70% is one hour rides to the 'big' city on highways 60 to 70 MPH.
As an aside to MPG, I couldn't be happier with the advancements since my 2009 Malibu, with the the lane keeper function and the adaptive cruise control. It makes driving so much easier.
