I had an IBM 486 desktop computer in the early 1990s that I called Christine. I used an internal dial up modem since DSL wasn't available at that time. After having it about a year, the computer had a habit of trying to startup by itself once a day usually around 7 pm. It would boot up as far as engaging the modem. The landline phones bells would ring once and be locked out from use until I unplugged the computer.
I called an IBM help line and they sent a container with pre paid postage to send it back to IBM. I did and they sent me another like 486. They wouldn't tell me what was up with the computer.
