YepTry the north entrance to Crater Lake sometime!
Same story.
We went there in mid may and the road was still snowed in. Went to south entrance and just before the lodge the snow pack was still about 12 ft thick.

So, when is the new recliner being delivered?
I never was a "horsey set" person. I don't think a saddle would be too good on my back. Will be BTD soon on specialist for lower back issues.
Awesome pics! I can't wait to go to Glacier. But wish my plan was better. There was only 1 night of lodge/hotel openings available in park for the entire summer 2022. So we are doing 3 days at Glacier - 2 at Columbia Falls west of Glacier, 1 night at Many Glacier Lodge.
Taking the red bus tour day 1; driving, exploring and a little hiking along Going to the Sun Road day 2; and hiking out of Many Glacier Lodge day 3. I might try to add another day at the end by booking a hotel east of glacier.
We stopped in at a Relax The Back store, local mini-chain I think, which was having a 20% off sale. I blew $1200 on one of their desk chairs, which should be ready for pick-up sometime next month.
Just ordered a Polaris Ranger UTV with snow plow and enclosed cab. If I have to plow snow, I’m going to do it without freezing.
A bit of research from David Blanchett, seems folks with pensions spend more confidently than folks with portfolio assets. If you want to BTD, convert it all to a stream of cash.

Very nice! I have been contemplating one of those for years. I have been around them a lot but not much when the snow gets deep. The ones the crew had were track machines. I did see a guy move snow with one yesterday and it was impressive.
I think I need one with tracks to get back into the cabin which is over a mile in. I then have to walk into the cabin because of the terrain.
Starts today and yes, he's doing it. He rebuilt the entryway and its beautiful, fixed a walkway that someone else did wrong, will remove broken backyard play stuff (trampoline, basketball hoop, basically everything except fort), and was the best bid.So now I'm thinking of replacing the breakfast room, kitchen, family room, laundry room, 1/2 bath with the bamboo. It says it's warranted 40 years residential use but it is not engineered bamboo. So I don't know how it stands up against water. Here's my problem. My ex son-in-law, father to 2 of my grandkids, puts in floors. I can buy the the material at a relatively good price and he'd want me to do that so its just a labor charge. But the last time I asked him for an estimate on something he was twice the next guy. I could say because his father of 2 of the kids that the money filters down to help them. Except here's the problem. One of those kids is 20 and sleeps here almost every night. The other 1 is 15 going on 16 and has moved in during the school year. And I get no money for them. So do I let him bid and tell him that he will be bidding against at least 2 other people?
Hmmm.Went to Ace Hardware and got an Ego 24" self propelled snow blower. I had the non self propelled but is was too much like work. This new one is the bee's knees. I already have a bunch of Ego batteries so just needed the snow blower.
Hmmm.
It takes a fair amount of power to blow tons of snow over the course of an hour, which is typical for what I do with my Ariens (10 HP engine) after an 8"+ snowfall.
Unclear how many amp-hours of battery that translates to but I guess you'll find out...
Is Glacier NP visit a BTD?
Maybe the lodges are overpriced?
I was looking at visiting Crater Lake and there is one lodge there, probably an exclusive concessionaire.
Prices are high, especially with view of the lake but the lodge gets poor reviews for comfort and cleanliness.
Main advantage is you have to drive some distance away from the lake to stay overnight in another accommodation because of the exclusivity.
Who's going to pull the trigger and get us started this year?
Two separate BTD threads for 2022!
Which one will win
