What We're Making

Active electronic bandpass filter I put together last night. Today, I get to test it and see if I did it right!

Nice Ron!

Have you ever tried using glue with sawdust for nail hole fill? It is harder to work with, but if I get the mix right, it can cause the holes to just disappear.

Yep, I use the glue/ sawdust mix when I'm staining or clear coating the piece. Works great when I use sawdust from the wood I'm working with.

What are you filtering (I can't see all the part values)? Are the three caps along the top part of the bandpass, or supply filters?

At some point, I'm going to have to get some of those adapter boards, more and more, IC's aren't offered in the more DIY friendly DIP format (0.1" spacing on pins).

^ wow a double drawer! I've never seen this before. Very nice.

I've done the tray on top of the drawer thing, but this was new for me too. Good for top drawers for me as I use lots of things that fill up the first drawer.

You just need to cut out the back of the main drawer a little for the top drawer to clear. I had some extra clearance on top too.

I didn't click the link until now. I wanted to see what all the hub-bub was about.

Holy cow, that's the coolest thing ever!

Client wanted a "double wide" kitchen helper step stool for the kiddos. Mostly poplar and a a little white oak.

Nice. I now know mesquite is good for something other than smoking meats!

Pro tip, keep your unfinished scraps for the grill/smoker for some tasty food.

Use a smoke tube and put small scraps of mesquite (or other desirable wood) in it with some pellets. That's what I do and it works well.

What we're making? Using scraps of walnut and white oak to smoke some baby backs... Walnut has a great flavor on pork...

I really enjoy seeing your craftsmanship. Do you ever make any boxes with hand cut dovetails? Years ago, I had a book, Tag Frid Teaches Woodworking that showed a lot of hand cut joinery that I would occasionally play around with. Alas, I gave up woodworking when we moved to Texas in 1993 and had to get rid of my woodworking machines.
