What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

Netflix "Diagnosis." A New York Times journalist (who is an MD) is now sharing medical data with the world (with the patients approval) to solve medical mysteries. People who have lived years with chronic illnesses and were never diagnosed b/c Dr's cannot figure it out. Devastating situations that found hope.

Captions are necessary. The show I'm watching is based in Yorkshire so the characters almost sounds Scottish at times.

But there are times when you need captions for American shows too.

Ah, yes Scottish, they never taught us that at school in England, that confuses the best of us... again :) ;) But they are not really part of England, just part of the British Isles, they have been trying to break away for years. Sort of like Quebec in Canada.

We are addicted to British Detective Dramas. Trouble we are having trouble finding them now as we have seen most of them. Going back in the years now.

Currently watching Midsomer Murders (20 Seasons)

Loved Murder in Paradise, Tunnel, Vera, Shetland, DCI Banks, Wytcliffe, Life on Mars, Morse, Endeavour and a lot more.

Thanks for listing. We have seen some of these. Good ideas for the next series.

Currently watching Line Of Separation on PBS. It is about a rural town in Germany as WW2 ended, that is split in two by the line dividing East and West Germany and the impact on the families, former aristocrats and peasants and some Nazis, treated brutally by the Russians, only slightly better by the Americans
LOL. Great recommendation to not watch. Thanks.

Quebec, I believe, just likes to threaten to break away.

Ah yes, we all have our recalcitrant children, down here its West Australia. Every year or two some politician [usually a minor nobody] threatens for the most isolated state on earth to secede from the Commonwealth of Australia :D

Been enjoying Unforgotten on Amazon. A BBC detective show. Well done. Nicola Walker does such a good job.

We've got one episode left of Russian Doll. We almost didn't get past the second episode because of the rough NY humor/lifestyle/language. But tonight I had to wrestle the remote away from DW so we could save the last episode for a different night. Weird, funny, depressing, fascinating. Well worth watching.

Also saw that they've announced there won't be a third season of The OA. Too bad, it was an excellent show. Of course, some people are saying this is just one of the plot twists, and it will really continue. I hope they're right.

Watched the first season of the HBO series Succession, about an aging media mogul fighting with his family over control of the business. Interesting glimpse into how people with real money live, and fight over it.

We just finished the first season last night--Season 2 is underway now with one new episode every Sunday, as HBO likes to do. So good--the writing and the acting, and the production values are terrific.

for hard core Star Trek fans of TOS (The Original Series). i’ve just discovered within the last week Star Trek: Continues. this is a web based aeries (also on YouTube) tbat picks up where TOS left off. totally free, no commercials its done by fans but all are professional actors, writers, etc. 11-episodes very well done and very true to the look and spirit of TOS.

We are enjoying Love Sick on Netflix. Strange premise: A guy finds out he has Chlamydia and is told he has to contact all his partners he has had for the last several years. He makes a list and starts contacting them. There is about an episode for each girl.

You would think that is not particularly funny, but it is done in the best British humor way, and is quite a funny show. Highly recommended, if you like British comedies.

She is one of my favorite actors lately. I liked her very much in Last Tango in Halifax as well.

Doing some digging on the web there is no release date as yet for Unforgotten Series 4 but I found one reference that said it was scheduled to begin production this month (9/2019). Last Tango, unfortunately, appears to be dead despite the fact it was left with a cliffhanger involving Nicola Walker's character. Shame.

Grand Designs on Netflix. Renovation and new construction projects in the UK. Common theme is that lack of compete construction drawings and a GC leads to delays and budget overruns.

A good series to watch as you tumble off to snorry land. If an extra episode or two plays on while you sleep, there's still more to go.

Sounds too much like what I retired early from.

Actually it should be pretty interesting for those who didn’t have to deal with such things in real life. And I do miss the sense of accomplishment upon seeing my contribution to designing a large complicated building come to fruition. But not enough to go back!

And yes, the GC always blames the design team and vice versa.

Nicola Walker also starred in the Netflix series called "River", which we enjoyed greatly. A little creepy in the premise, but well done.

I enjoyed River too.

I watched the Netflix sci-fi series Another Life with Katee Sackhoff. While I enjoy her the series was very poor. Certainly a few interesting moments, but really bad.

I thoroughly enjoyed that too!
