What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

You didn't like Twyla?

I didn't remember who she was, Googled it, and found out she was the waitress at the cafe. I believe I only saw her briefly and she wasn't memorable. Maybe she turns out to be likable as the series progresses but I could think of no reason to continue.

I’m enjoying the PBS documentary “The Gene” and in awe of the scientists described and their work. I’m totally ignorant of the topic but it’s presented in an accessible way.

Finished "Picard". Kind of a mixed bag. Such potential. It was good but could have been so much better. The plot seemed to get lost in the middle episodes but came back strong at the end. The final two episodes seemed rushed and contained the mother of all deus ex machina's, a handheld device called the Imagination Device. (Hoo-boy, what a crutch for the writers...) A lot of dumb, illogical things happened along with some truly memorable, touching scenes. I would give the series a 7.5 out of 10. Recommended for Star Trek fans, others--YMMV.

Watched one episode of "Tiger King"...disgusted. One big sorry example of people pretending to be animal activists. Can't figure out how this is entertaining. What's interesting about shoving 10 tigers in a cage, profiting off it, then passing tiger kittens around to grubby kids.

Schitt's Creek on Netflix. Hilarious.

I’m always impressed when a show doesn’t skip a beat from the beginning to the end. What a treat to have those two comedy legends together.

Just finished watching the first of two seasons of Intelligence on Netflix, a Drama about the Canadian intelligence community and the people around it. It definitely held our attention but omg the central people (who really should be running things, not hands on) just drive around and have two sentence conversations with others at all hours of the day and night, from their respective cars. It would be a great drinking game if we drank. Bonus: two actors from Corner Gas (like Schitts Creek above, another series whose last episode was as good as its first) popped up in guest parts near the end.

"Tiger King" makes "Jersey Shore" seem normal

Tigers are just the McGuffin. The real show is the out-of-this-world strangeness of the people.

Cult leaders calling out rivals for being cult leaders. The cult members who have money for elaborate tattoos and piercings but seemingly not for toothbrushes. Or casually prefer to amputate an injured hand rather than go through the surgery to repair it.

Watching "Tiger King" I kept thinking of an old Eddie Murphy standup routine. It went something like, "I went to visit a prison to show solidarity with the brothers, and I learned an important lesson... Thank God we got prisons!"

If I had made up this story and written it into a novel, it would be dismissed as "too unrealistic".

Oh I get it. These crazy rednecks had no idea they were being filmed and behaved in their normal pattern. Nothing close to a reality show. Kind of like Jersey Shores, Housewives of Beverly Hills, Honey Boo Boo, Hoarders...shocking behavior in front of a camera. It's the tigers that got everyone to watch this sad piece of Americana. The tigers are the patsies here. The backdrop to drama...right!

Been watching Anne with an E on netflix recently. Plots are predictable but the scenery is lush and it's thoroughly entertaining.

Another good one from the UK is Blood 2018, it has the detective from "Line of Duty" in it.

2 Seasons.

I have not watched it yet but it is said by my friends to be good.

Bosch Season 6 was added to Amazon Prime yesterday.

Based on the Harry Bosch books from author Michael Connelly.

Some good weekend material.

We happened upon a new PBS show this week, World on Fire. It is set in the time of WWII and follows multiple life stories of people living in France, Poland, and Britain during this time.

Really, really enjoying it!

I am watching World on Fire too--very good but it is stressing me out some now because I see some similarities to what we have been going through. Another new good PBS series I am enjoying is Beecham House , set in India during the British rule. I get it on PBS Passport, I think it will eventually be on Masterpiece.

We have been watching the latest Season of Outlander (Starz).
English Game was a short series on NetFlix about Futbol before the huge salaries.

Watched a couple of Into the Loop (Prime). My wife doesn't like it so I'll have to watch on m own tie.

Season 4 of Heist.
