Got Flu shot and a Tdap shot which for some reason had to be by prescription.
Didn't take too long at the Rite Aid pharmacy to get both.
7 hours ago, and no side effects. :)

Lined up for a bicycle race this morning (8th place) and another in the afternoon (1st place).

After dinner and a little TLC on my bike tonight, hitting the pillow early and will do the same races in the rain tomorrow.

Good times!

That is the most incredible coincidence.

Isn't that amazing? :2funny: :ROFLMAO: But really I would have bought it even if it had been farther down the street. It's exactly the house I have always dreamed of, and the location next door to Frank is icing on the cake.

Yeah, less cracks in the sidewalk to trip over - :)

We drove to LA and back, picked up DSD for Christmas. Left at a quarter to 10 AM, arrived home 8 PM. Traffic was good - :)

Wifey said DSD was out on Friday, I said let's go on Saturday. You don't want to drive in CA on Friday.

I took apart my sister's (temporary) well system, did some work on the casing, dosed the well with chlorine, and tested my work.
My brother got a good start on the deck.

What is your fun job? I'm looking for one as I am not adjusting well to having so much time on my hands.

Find a hobby instead of a job.

I can easily fill up most of my days by player guitar and bass, working out, doing DIY projects, reading books, etc.

Sounds like my days, add in some paddling!

I'm just learning guitar... having fun but frustrating too as I haven't mastered much. I'm walking away if I get sloppy (perfect practice makes perfect, not just practice). I'm waiting for things to "click" to the point where I can fall back to the fun stuff as I push myself to learn more. 5-bar blues in E and messing around with the pentatonic scale with You Tube jam tracks are pretty fun but I'm a long way from feeling like I am a guitar player.

When putting in a pair of garden beds last year, I laid them out such that the aisle between them wasn't the same width from end to end.

I fixed that today, cleaned up weeds, and harvested some carrots for tonight's dinner.

EDITED TO ADD: I went back to work, added compost, and dug it in to one of the beds.

I visited my friend who is now in an assisted living facility following his bad stroke last month. He is still blind in one eye and paralyzed on his left side. I took him outside in his wheelchair as it was 70 and sunny out. I also brought him some freshly made oatmeal raisin cookies.

He's got a nice room (actually two plus a bathroom) but the TV is only a Smart TV and programmed to stream only certain providers. It cannot get local channels so no football or golf or other sports to watch. I guess you don't get much for $7,000/month.

I couldn't imagine myself driving in CA at any time of day or any day. Lol

We went to the lighting of the harbor Christmas tree right behind our house. It is about 20 feet high, made of stacked lobster pots and decorated with strings of lights and lobster pot buoys that were hand painted by a wide variety of people from our town. It was a pleasant event, with happy people, kids, dogs and singing groups. Then we went out to dinner for the young wife's birthday. It is the first real fancy dinner out that we have had since Covid hit. I think she enjoyed it.

Major, expensive service on my tractor. All fluids n filters. Called Kubota dealer Friday about possibly trading in my 49hp for a 70hp. Lol, lol, lol, until the dealer gave me the price and that one isn't even available! 2 1/2 times the cost of mine. Mines still in very good condition. Dealer said I could sell mine in a week for a very good price. Nah!

I finished up the well job, and brother and I got a good bunch of the deck done. Then DW and I loaded up the 5th wheel and brought it home across White Pass. The pass report was OK, but the reality was snotty going. I got behind an empty lowboy truck and trailer for some of it. I am always happy to follow another professional.
Then it got crappy again on the hump between Morton and Elbe. There was plenty of compact and slushy snow, and a truck in the ditch at the top of that little pass.
Glad to be back home so I can go to work and get some rest tomorrow.

Yesterday played my one and only band Christmas concert at the Army Heritage Center at the War College. Masked all I could except while playing. Got takeout dinner at a new BBQ place. The food was delicious! I ate too much for the first time in a long time.

Today we start getting all the upstairs flooring replaced. Cleared away a lot but there is more to do. Our internet will be disconnected for a day as they do our home office. Sleeping poorly overnight-oh well. I may take a nap in the recliner seats in the basement since we’ll have installers here all day today and tomorrow.

Friday and Saturday I complete all of my holiday gift mailings, put up the outside holiday lights, and got the tree up with lights and garland for DW to do the rest. That left Sunday for me and youngest DS to attend, courtesy of tickets that were gifted to us, The Dallas-Washington football game. It was the first NFL game I had gone to in a long while that I did not have a rooting interest in either team. In a way that made the day much more relaxing.

DS was late getting to our house, so we left about a hour later that I planned. I was concerned that our "secret" parking choice (about a mile from the field but MUCH cheaper than the Fedex field lots) would be full or blocked off, as it is off one of the roads towards the official lots. We got there at 12:45 but there was still plenty of parking spaces, and we made it inside the stadium just after kickoff.

Fedex Field is now a "mobile ticketing" venue. No paper tickets accepted, you have to download tickets onto your smartphone and use that to gain entrance. Also no cash in the stadium, either credit card or mobile payments.

The palace was paced, and other than the workers, only about 10% of the folks had masks on (and probably half of them, including the workers, did not have it over the nose). We did put our masks on when standing in line for food as there was not distancing and folks talking and yelling as things happened on the TV screens, but otherwise we felt fine.

Speaking of the food, we were glad the tickets included a "Gold" Membership which gave use 50% all food purchases. That made the prices almost reasonable. The regular prices - well, those prices are not in line with a LBYM lifestyle .

It was a long day, but worth it. It was very comfortable fall football weather. The game seemed like it would a blowout but got close and exciting at the end. And the time hanging out with DS, talking, and being "entertained" by the back and forth between the Dallas and Washington fans were priceless (naturally we hid our NFL team allegiance, both sets of fans would have made toast of us ).
