What new series are you watching? *No Spoilers, Please*

I just finished watching 2 seasons of "Ted Lasso" and 3 seasons of "For All Mankind" on Apple TV+. I enjoyed both of them. I don't see any more series on Apple TV+ that intrigue me enough to watch them. I will watch a few of the movies that are available that look interesting and then probably cancel my subscription until Ted Lasso season 3 comes out. I only signed up a couple weeks ago, so this will be a one-month use and then move on.

Yeah, waiting for Season 3 and 4 of those respectively too. I'm definitely not making enough use of Apple TV+ between seasons to justify it from what I can tell.

Have you tried "The Morning Show" and "Severence"? Both were very good on Apple TV+. I agree that there is not as much great content as on Hulu and some of the other streaming services, but we get Apple TV+ for free with our T-Mobile Over 55 Magenta Max phone plan. I am also waiting for the next season of Ted Lasso to drop. It would have been great if it came out around now to coincide with the World Cup.
Also, "They call me Magic" about Magic Earvin Johnson, was a good 4 part documentary on Apple TV+ released earlier this year.

I watched a few episodes of The Morning Show and didn't care for it. I'll look again at Severance. Magic doesn't interest me really. Thanks for the suggestions.

Trying is okay. Some people rave about Acapulco.

Bad Sisters was okay.

Slow Horses is great.

Pachinko and Blackbird are suppose to be as well.

Watched the first couple episodes of "Tulsa King" on Paramount last night. Pretty good, we both laughed some.

Not exactly new, but I'm enjoying "The Last Kingdom" on Netflix. It's a BBC series filmed 2015-2022. Set in Britain in the 800's, Saxons and Danes, Christians and pagans, it's a really well done series.

Started "Blood & Treasure" Season 1 & 2, somewhat loosely whimsical take on Indiana Jones. It is entertaining. Anthony & Cleopatra's tombs are raided by the Germans for nefarious purposes.

I really enjoyed Seasons 1 and 2. Netflix took over production starting with Season 3 and IMO the gore just went over the top, even by this show's standards. YMMV

I watched both Pachinko and Blackbird and they were both very good. I believe another season of Pachinko is coming, but Blackbird was a limited series (based on a true story) that was wrapped up.

Fabulous series! Very historically accurate as far as I can tell based on The Saxon Stories series of books. I think there must be another season or two I’ve missed. Amazing that the Saxons held on to Wessex. If they had not…….

If you make it to York England don’t miss the Jarvick museum.

I decided to try watching Severance. I'm about 6 episodes into it. Very intriguing show, I must say. I'll watch the rest of Season 1. But I'll probably need to be pulled further into it to start a second season (when it is available). I can only take so much of walking along endless white hallways.:LOL:

I'm glad I'm not the only one that cannot withstand the walking the halls routine. Honestly, if they were to cut most of those scenes out of the show they could shave an entire episode off the series. For those of you that haven't seen Severance, this is not an exaggeration.

Don't worry, you will get pulled into it. The last two episodes, and especially the last episode, provide payoffs in plot that you've been waiting for.

Paunchy, I was going to tell you exactly what QS said about the last episodes of season 1. You will definitely want to get back into Season 2 when it comes out.

OK. I'll let you guys know how I feel after I finish the first season. Likely later today. It's cold and a bit snowy here, so I don't plan on venturing back outside and I need something to do!

Ok, I just finished the first season of Severance. As mentioned above, the last couple episodes certainly ramped up the intrigue. I’ll check out season 2 when it comes out.

Hopefully, it doesn’t become another Hand Maids Tale, which I felt became too much “lather, rinse, repeat” the anguish of the protagonists after the first couple seasons.

Finished the first season of 1899 on Netflix last night, came to a satisfying conclusion and a good starting point for a second season. I had my worries but I felt like I got reasonable payoff on the story elements in the end.

For anybody else who is watching and enjoying The Peripheral, I can wholeheartedly recommend the book (and the sequel, Agency). The story is different enough that it is a distinct experience, you definitely won't feel like you already know it.

I finished the first season of 1899 (Netflix) and hope there is a second season!
Really enjoyed this show and highly recommend if you like science fiction. I loved Dark- thought it was one of the best shows I’ve seen. 1899 isn’t quite that good but definitely kept me engaged.

I started watching Dead To Me on Netflix-3rd season.
While I liked the 1st season and was mildly entertained by the 2nd season, I don’t recommend the 3rd. I thought it was just ridiculous. When I started to fast forward through most of the episodes I gave up and don’t intend to revisit.

I’m going to check out The peripheral.

We just finished S1 of "Outer Range on Prime Video. 8 episodes, each one a little more...weird...than the previous. This is one strange series. Entertaining, but strange.

I watched the first season of Peripheral and based on the ending of season 1, I don't know anything.

I've watched two episodes of Wednesday. I was a bit hesitant since I never could get interested in the original Addams Family TV show. But, after two episodes I am hooked. What I especially like is the great repartee between Wednesday and those who wish to torment or change her. I hope the writers can keep that up. The story line isn't bad either since there is a mystery to be solved.

Started "1899" Very weird ...... but compelling at the same time. First 3 episodes were very slow, but then it started to get interesting. Difficult to just trash, so we will watch the complete season.

PBS Masterpiece channel via Amazon:

Astrid

A French detective series with subtitles. Very well done.
