Auto Deduction for self employed

There are many much more sophisticated people on here than me, so I wanted to post this question that my niece, a dentist, asked me about. She has a couple of other friends (MD's, not DMD"s) that somehow seem to have their practice "own" their vehicle and write that off as expense. I can't see where that would make sense, and have told her I wouldn't do it.

Anyone have familiarization about this? TIA

If she has her own practice, she probably has a CPA and should ask them. If an MD drives for work, ie from office to Hospital, then they're using the car for business.
