Dolly Freed beat us all. She ER'd while a teen.
I have obviously been living under a rock. She wrote a book called possum living in the 70's and is a bit of a legend. No one has heard of her since. I thought this was funny as H@ll and thought you might enjoy.

Dolly's book is a masterpiece! Unbelieveable. I may
now reform my wayward life and convert to possumism.
I kid you not. I am giving it serious thought.

Incidentally, she left out one method of fishing, mostly
used for catfish in certain parts of the country. It's called
"hogging" or "noodling". This involves actually getting into a river and then feeling under the banks in holes and
old stumps for catfish. If you find one, stick your hand in his mouth and pull him out! You can tell experienced hoggers by the scrapes and scars on thier arms and hands, or sometimes they may find a snapping turtle
in which case a few fingers might be missing. A sport
certainly not for the faint of heart. I am not making
this up. My grandpa was an experienced hogger.
