Chik-fil-a relies on proper etiquette as part of their successful business model. For those who are customers, don’t you feel great when the teenager replies with “my pleasure!” when you thank them for your bag of food? You think, “Wow, that’s how it ought to be done.” And have you ever once heard a Chik-fil-a kid mutter “no problem”? No, you have not, ever, because that thriving business understands the importance of manners and trains employees accordingly.
Ah, yes. Chik-fil-a. We only had access to a Chik-fil-a on the mainland (until a few weeks ago.) So we hadn't really gone there until a couple of years back. When we finally did go, I thought I'd been time-warped back to the 50's. Here were these "strange" people who smiled, gave good service, made sure the order was correct, said please and thank you, etc. I'm not even a huge chicken fan, though I do eat chicken. I felt like I was in an episode of Twilight Zone. Disorienting, but very nice. Who knew?
