Lots of my favorites have been named a few I have not noticed are Corner Gas, great Canadian comedy. Murdoch Mysteries, it is still being filmed but their are about 13 seasons in the can already. Sliders, Home Improvement, Night Court, Pretender, Six Feet Under, Dead Like Me, Highlander and WKRP in Cincinnati are others on my watch list.
Now for the how. I have Netflix and standard Hulu and free stuff on RoKu everything else is over the air with an outside antenna. I have one of my computers setup with a quad tuner and use Plex software. Lifetime subscription to a TV guide on Plex runs around $100 but they put it on sale all the time, I think I paid $69. Takes a little time to learn the software but it allows you to create a large library over time. You can set it up to record all episodes of a show without re-recording shows already recorded. I setup a show and forget it for awhile, some shows are on so often you can get all the episodes in a month or two others take longer. I have learned not to delete shows until I have stopped recording the show so it doesn't re-record shows I have watched. You can also setup different libraries to store the shows, I have a Current, Old and Music TV library as well as a Movie library. Plex lets you skip commercials depending on how your streaming it to your TV. All this does take lot of disc space but large discs are relatively cheap now. Plex streams of the internet and can stream to multiple devices, including, Roku, tablets, smart phones and other devices that can connect to your house internet.
Sorry for the Plex sales pitch but I have been using it for a little over a year and it works great. And yes I watch to much TV, more this year.
