Daylight Saving Time is tonight. We gain an hour, a whole 3600 seconds of additional time to do with whatever we please. Don’t forget to reset the clocks and rerun FIRECalc to see if that extra hour changes our SWR.

Interestingly, I will have to change one analog and three digital clocks. All the rest, including one analog, will change themselves. Ain't progress wonderful?

The big thing for me is no longer having to change the clock in my car. That was always a hassle, having to figure out how to do it twice a year.

Some will spend the hour changing clocks, wristwatches, car clocks etc...

Ours changed last weekend. 3 analog, 2 digital plus the car to adjust. Then when I took and recorded my BP a couple of days later I found another, digital, clock to change. (Omron BP monitor)

Watch out! I've found that some/most of those clocks that automatically change have their own built in calendar (if they don't have a wifi-cell connection). One year, they shifted the time change by one or two weeks, those clocks changed early, then I had to change them again after the 'real' change.

And time changes may come to an end next year, so you might be stuck setting them back!

Weird thing for me was that my 2017 came with 3 years of some sort of cell connection, they gave me monthly updates on tire pressure, oil life, etc. During that time, the clock would auto update. Surprise, in year 4, it didn't, as they dropped the connection (unless I paid for it). But it turns out the touch screen made it super easy to set the clock. No mysterious, "hold this for 12 seconds, press this button 3 times....".

I have 5 analog clocks I have to change.

One is a kitchen clock with hands, so I just have to turn a dial backward a little bit.

My wristwatch is digital but I have to remember the right combination of buttons (there are 3) to press so I can move the hour setting forward 23 hours.

My car's digital clock is easy because there is no AM/PM. Just press the hour button 11 times.

One old digital clock I press the hour button but I forget if it is 11 or 23 times. I'll find out soon.

One older digital clock has no separate hour button, so I hold its "Fast" button until the time moves forward 23 hours. There is a "Slow" button I switch to when I get near the destination time. If I overshoot it (which happens sometimes), I have to hold the "Fast" button another 24 hours until it cycles back, then hit the "Slow" button again.

At least the cell phone, PC, and cable TV box automatically update themselves.

TV schedules are made up weeks ahead of time. What happens if I look at the TV schedule this evening and it says "M*A*S*H" is on between 1:00am and 2am. It also says "Mannix" is on at 2:00am to 3am. I turn my TV on at 1:30am. What program is on my TV?

I'm going to change the clocks around dinner tonight to minimize the shock to the system in the morning.

To quote the meme:
"Gaining an extra hour in 2022 is like getting a bonus track on a Yoko Ono album."

I already set clocks back :).

I only have three clocks in the house that need to be changed manually; I changed them 10 minutes ago. I will change the clock in the car the next time I drive. The computers and the phone etc. will magically change at 2:00 am.

I've always changed the clocks when I went to bed, but it suddenly occurred to me that it doesn't make any difference if I do it now! I don't do anything on a schedule in my house; I don't have to be anywhere at a certain time; dinner time is when I'm hungry and bedtime is whenever I feel like it. I don't watch live TV so I don't have to know the actual time.

It helps that I live alone, so the only person who might get confused by changing them early is me - and I'm usually already confused about something or other anyway! :D

I hear you, Calico. I changed my “main clock”, a pendulum clock over the fireplace, on Thursday. Since I knew it didn’t matter but I’m “primed”.

Just did the coffeemaker. That’s important but quick to do.

I’d like to keep a uniform time and don’t care which is chosen.

I’m not sure what will be on TV and I guess I’m not sure what the temperature will be either:

The world ends around here if I adjust the clock in the dash of my wife's truck a couple of minutes.

Simple solution. Go to sleep before 1am.

"The Twilight Zone"?

Daylight savings time reminds me of the guy whose blanket was too short. His feet kept popping out from under it and getting cold. So he cut a foot off the top of the blanket and sewed it on to the bottom.

That's a great question!* I looked at the DVR guide for tonight and it looks like it would for any night of the year! Since the time is going to go back 1 hour how can they just list shows from midnight to 8 am without accounting for this? Fortunately, I don't need to record anything tonight but if I did and it was in that 1 to 3am timeframe, I don't know how it would be handled.

* Don't you just detest the phrase "that is a great question" but in this case it really is! It seems every person that askes another person a question on financial shows compliments the person asking the question with the most annoying BS ie "that's a great question". How can all the questions asked by all the different people on the different networks be asking such great questions every.single.time?
