We built a new home this year, we had cable TV and cat6 in every room. 2 smurf tubes in the living room and one in bedroom (the two smurf tubes in the living room so that we have the options to put the TV on top of the fireplace or the big wall). Extra AC outlets where we think that we might need (especially in the power room near the toilet for bidet).
It works out really good for us. No regret, money well spent.
