Game summary: Dropsies in KC.

Looks like the Lions did not follow the script the NFL gave them :). They played the Chiefs tough, the momentum they built the end of the last season seems to have carried into this season.

The Chiefs might start scouring the waiver wire for receivers. I did not watch the entire game, but there seemed to be more than a few drops at key times.

Mahomes can't throw them and catch them.

Well I think the phrase, "KC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory" applies here... Several, times during that game.

Mahomes seemed to be a little off target the first half (sometimes) but looked really good the second half. (IMO) But as it takes a team effort.

Ok, on to Sunday night. I hope Dallas will be ready, since I've got money on that one.

Not to get too far off-topic, but I've found that with my OTA antenna just moving it a bit sideways, or up or down a few inches, or reversing it, can greatly affect the reception of certain TV channels. Heck! I've got my antenna hung next to a sliding patio door, and sometimes whether the door is closed or slid partially or fully open can affect reception of some channels. The weather too.

And, of course, it is recommended that you do a "re-scan" periodically, at least monthly.
Just a quick aside that I've found https://www.tvfool.com (and the Compass app on my iPhone) useful in this regard.

"slam dunk", "Cake Walk"

We in Detroit love to see that over confidence.

Folks are sayng that KC handed Detroit the game. To me, it looked like Detroit forced a lot of those errors.

The first scoring drive (91 yards, fake punt deep in their own territory) was impressive.

Only one game, but Detroit could be the team to watch in the NFC North.

So many missed opportunities for the Chiefs but Lions earned the win. Good for them.

Some good match-ups will be broadcast locally for me Sunday on CBS, FOX and NBC -- which stations come in just fine on my OTA antenna:

  • 10:00 a.m.: SF at PIT; CLE at CIN
  • 1:25 p.m.: LV at DEN (with former Seahawk QB Russell Wilson)
  • 1:25 p.m.: LAR at SEA (Go Hawks!)
  • 5:20 p.m.: DAL at NYG
I'm especially looking forward to the games that I've bolded.

The only one I'm interested in is the one you didn't highlight.:) But maybe that's because I have some real money on the line with that one.:) Got to love these Sport books!

So far, I've been able to abstain. But they sure make it hard. I just got an email that I could get $100 off of Sunday Ticket if I signed up for Fanduel.

All the Casinos in Louisiana now have Sports Books. (still illegal here in Texas, which is STUPID!) But I make the trip across the state line a couple of times a month so it's not an issue. Now that football season has started, I'll be making bets each trip anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars each time. Makes the games more exciting for me. YMMV

So with two key Cowboy OL out, how has that changed the odds?

Moneyline bets are offering a little better payout since I placed my initial bets a month ago. We will see.

Too far out to pickup the Fox affiliate in the area. Well at least I'm to far away with the inside OTA antenna I have now. Maybe getting an outside antenna would work . I'll think about it.

Put your location info in this page and see what signal strength you have in your area. Put in your zip code, click 'go' then, click 'Move push pin to center of Map View' This will provide 'Good', 'Fair' and 'poor' signal strength of the Channels in your area.

Then decide what antenna you need. Antennas are made with more or less gain, as an example, the more gain you have the less wide receive pattern, i.e. the more gain antenna only has that high gain in say from 340* to 20* so if you have to receive both a North and a West TV station, a high gain antenna may not be the best choice. Also check to see if any of the stations you want to receive are VHF stations vs UHF stations. If you have VHF stations, you need a combo antenna that will receive VHF and UHF. VHF antennas have longer elements to receive the lower frequency VHF.
I have two local VHF channels that are on ch 9 and 13, anything 14 and above is a UHF station.
PM me if you need more help, I have a pretty good understanding of how this works.

For anyone that wants to try a DIY antenna, I'll include a diagram of a simple DIY antenna. The first one I built has just a quick emergency antenna for my daughter I used cardboard and aluminum foil and she put it in a ground floor antenna. She got plenty of stations, (Bradenton area), The we had a hurricane, no cable for a couple months, stores were all sold out of antennas, In 45 minutes, I built an antenna for my neighbor, I screwed aluminum flashing on a 2" x 6" board, (far from optimal material) I mounted it on a 10ft chain link fence rail and connected to where his cable entered the house, it received all but one local, I added a second 10ft fence rail to get the antenna up about 20ft and that was enough to make that channel solid. For my daughters new home I made a rectangular frame using PVC pipe, using a T in the center and an adapter cut in half to make a mount to fit the mast and used hose clamps to secure. I used aluminum flashing for the elements and mounted it at 20 ft and it gets over 70 channels. Here's the simple diagram.

Bosa is now the biggest DE paid ever. 49ers are definitely winning the Super Bowl this year.
It seems that often times when a big pay day is made, the player suddenly turns lousy or gets hurt:cool:.

Big pay days happen often these days. Even the regular players are making more money than they can spend in there lifetime.

The excitement is in the air believing the Eagles are going to the Superbowl
this year!!
